I bought this machine for my 2 year old this past winter. I bought it the day after the original blew it up. Well there grandkids. Was in the same family since new. they started it up and the kid took off and it locked up. I figured they cold seized it. I got the top end off it and it broke the top ring, chipped the piston and put a good scrape in the cyclinder wall. there is also some light scoreing on the walls.
first question is should I replace the cyclinder and go stock size bore. Or should i get an oversize piston and have it bored out. The piston has a 25 on the top and says art on the side by the wrist pin. Is this stock? I want it to be decent for my 2 year old, he will be 3 in June and want's his own 3 wheeler to ride.
Also where is a good place to find parts for these?

One more ? for now what other bikes share parts with a yt60?
Thanks for any help. links to old posts work also but I have not really found much on my own.

Ebay and Yamaha are probably the best place for parts. It sounds like it has been bored over once and you can bore it over 1 more time before you can't go any larger. The PW50 cylinder, piston and head will be a direct fit if you wouldn't mind losing 10cc.. They sell the rebuild kits for the pw50 for cheap cheap.. That may be a route you could go for cheap..

I recently purchased a kit for my Yamaha BW80 from this same maker. It bolted on great and seems to work fine. This would be your cheapest and best option in my opinion. http://www.ebay.com/itm/PW50-YAMAHA-CYLINDER-PISTON-GASKET-KIT-ZINGER-PW-50-80-ttr50-pw80-yz250f-/180850748662?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item2a1b8b6cf6

Most parts from the Quad-zinger will fit, as well. Same machine with 4 wheels.

Ended up buying the top end 50cc kit for $90 shipped. Seems like a good deal. parts seprate would have been at least double. Also not sure my cyclinder would clean up by 50 over it has a good gouge from that broken ring. I should have everything next week some time.

The top end kit came in todays mail. I brought the box in the house and my sons and I opened it up. My son who this is for, was so exicted he knew these were the parts for his trike. put it all together and fired it up for a little bit. Seems like a really decent kit for the money. What are the actual torque specs for the head nuts? I plan on getting alot done on this thing tommorrow. I have the engine all together and in the frame. just have to put everthing else on it now.
