NEW 84-85 Tecate Lonestar Axle Order

I will be putting in an order for +4 ADJUSTABLE Lonestar Axles for the 84-85 Tecate, if enough people are interested.

This will be very similar to the order of 86-87 axles that was recently made. You can check the thread for pictures of those axles.

http://www.3wheeler.org/vb/showthrea...-extended-axle

The only difference this time, is that I will be requiring a down payment of $100.00 for each axle, and payment in full must be made within 3 months of the axles being finished and ready to ship. If payment is not made within 3 months, the $100.00 deposit is lost and I will attempt to resell the axle.

I ship the axles as soon as I am paid and will ship worldwide if needed. This may be one of the last chances to buy a brand new axle for the 84-85 tecate. I must get atleast 18 buyers for the order, so if you are interested, put your name on the list and then PM me.

The PRICE will be $440.00 plus shipping to your door.

Please follow the list below and just add your .org name on the next line, copying and pasting from one post to another, so that everyone who is already on the list, stays on the list.

Let's see if we can get this done. Surely there are 16 other people out there who would like a new extended axle for their 1st generation Tecate.

Please follow the list below and just add your .org name on the next line, copying and pasting from one post to another, so that everyone who is already on the list, stays on the list.

I could either order +4 axles or +6 axles but not both. I will leave it to you guys to hash it out and pick which would be best. We also are a long way off from getting this order to go, so it could be a while. I thought there would be more interest. I have had more interest in this over at the .org site. That surprises me.

Just throwing this out there. Would you guys be interested if I have these axles made with honda 250r splines so that a guy could run honda hubs on their tecate? Nothing would change other than the splines. Same price etc. Let me know if this interests you guys and hopefully this may get a few more guys possibly intersted in purchasing an axle. COME ON PEOPLE.

The problem is most guys who have these bikes might have paid just a little more for the whole bike, compared to what these axles cost. I know you have to pay to play and if my bike didn't already have an extended axle I'd be all over one of these. But the sad reality is most of the Tecate players willing to drop the $$ already have an extended axle and the guys who don't have one are are scrambling trying to find a decent set of fenders or spending the money on ignition parts. A $450 axle is the least of their worries.

I hope these become reality because its always nice to have aftermarket race parts floating around.

I would do two if you could get them +6 with Honda hubs.

Everybody is good with the HONDA splines, correct? And if you want an axle, please put your name on the list and specify if you would like a +4 or a +6. Not sure if I will be able to order both lengths with the small amount of people interested, but I can try.

I already added my name above (christph) and am still interested. I just bought some NOS Durablue aluminum hubs this summer but I'll go with the Honda splines. Regarding the +4 or +6, I'll have to get out the tape measure and see what that puts the overall width at. I know that rim offset also affects overall width. I'm thinking I would like 48 to 50 inches for total width.

when do you need to send the 100 dollars? I'm interested but not sure this will ever make it off the ground so don't feel like being out a c note for a year.

Well it took about 4 months to do the 86-87 axles. So I would say it would be close to that, it won't be a year. And I will not order the axles until I have down payment. Like you, I don't feel like being out a c note, let alone the 5-6 G's it will cost me to make this order happen. Because everyone magically decides they cant afford it after they have committed. So at least this will hold guys accountable. I am hoping to order the axles in the next week or two. So I would need down payment pretty soon. I am still waiting to hear back from Durablue for some specifics.

I'm confused. The thread said you needed 18 min order and you only have about 4 people on-board since march. Will durabule do a smaller order? Let me know what they say when you hear from them. I'll be in Italy from Oct 27th to November 3rd so if you don't hear from me between those dates it's because I'm not around not because I'm not interested.

No problem. What info do you want from them, maybe I can help? And I am sorry your axle is devaluing, but I don't really think that is a reason for me not to provide 20 other people with a product that they need and want. And what does this mean "it devalues the real "stuff"" how is your axle any different than the ones DURABLUE makes now? They are both 100% legitimate axles made by the same company, just 20 years later, Its the same AXLE, actually probably better now. You may think they are "shitty" but they have been great to work with for me, I would really like to know what info you want from them. Again, sorry your axle is losing value, but I think it is messed up you are looking at it that way.

just ben, what are the dimensions and what axle do you need the posi lock nut on? I can give them a call and see if they will get one for me.heres what I measured, I will try my best to explain the measurements. the OD of the axle is 37.5mm (probably 37mm ID for the posi lock) in the center of the snap ring groove is 34.7mm and that groove is 4mm wide. from the center of the ring groove to the brake hub splines is 47.5mm. It's a +6 durablue for an 86 t3. Maybe it will measure up the same as the axles you had made. Did you get a part # for the posi lock If so and it measures up that would be the best case. maybe dura blue thought I was looking for free parts and thats why they ignored me although all I asked for was a part number so I could order it. Any help would be great and I appreciate it bronco.

Hey guys,

I wanted to let you know that Durablue is NOT going to be able to fulfill my order by the time I need them to (end of February). Therefore, I have reached out to Lonestar and have come to an agreement with them. They are willing to fulfill the order. These will be Lonestar +4 adjustable Axcaliber axles with the HONDA 250r splines. Basically everything is the same, except they will be Lonestar axles instead of Durablue. The only other difference is that as of right now, the axles will be made to accept the stock brake hub axle lock nuts. I am working with them on a locking hub nut, we will see if it happens. Also, the Lonestar axles are just a bit more, but they promise me they will be done in before the 1st of the year. So, the final price for the axles will increase from $425.00 to $440.00, plus shipping. Please get back to me with any concerns and/or questions. I am placing the order with Lonestar today.

Thanks again for your understanding,

Aaron

just a suggestion but you may wanna use the 400 ex splines, same as 2nd gen tecate. almost limitless hub choices 4/156, 4/110, 4/115, 3/100 and more I'm sure, those are just the ones I have that I know fit. Not to mention the extented hub options

what year honda splines someone just told me that the pre 1985 and post 1985 honda splines are different

These machines have the same axle splines ( any hub will cross fit on the axle splines ) :
I have personally swapped these hubs around in the past.

Nope no need for the custom hubs if we go with 400ex hubs just if we don't go with the 400ex splines since I have a bunch of rims and tires that I already own on 4x156 that I would love to still be able to run .. You the man

Ok, so here is the deal, Lonestar let me split up the order. So I have 14 axles coming with EX splines and 6 coming with TRX splines. 5 of those 6 are already spoken for. So, that leaves 1 axle with TRX splines. First one that speaks up can have that one. The rest get EX splines. If I get people in the next day or so that want TRX splines, I may be able to change it to 12 EX axles and 8 TRX, but I would have to know in the next day or two. Let me know if you have questions.

what ended up happening with the locking nut for the axle? did that ever happen

broncobeast32
12-29-2012, 02:03 AM
I can ask about the lock nut, but I know it will be another $65.00 and it will basically be a banshee locknut with the banshee threads. I didn't really bring it up to you guys because it is a bit more expensive, but if you want it, let me know and I will see if they will do it to a couple axles. They are done other than the cutting of the brake hub threads.

Axles arrived today. Look great. See pictures. They come with the castle nuts and spacers. They are set up to run the original tecate disc hub with double lock nuts and the original tecate sprocket hub. I believe I only have 2 axles left with 250r hub splines, the rest have 400ex splines. PM me if you are interested in purchasing 1 or if you have already put down your downpayment.

Thanks,

Aaron
