ok so i just get done with putting my motor in after putting a 12:1 piston in her and i get her all wired up and im all excited to start it, all i had to do was put my slide in the carb and it wont fit! almost like my carb neck shank i am very confused i thought i was trying to put it in backwards but after inspection it seems like its not even going down as far as the idle screw or the other nipple thing. its not even going down far enough for the needle to go in the hole. the last time i ran it it worked flawlessly and was perfect. what gives:mad: dissopointed i coudnt fire it up as i just bought new tires piston top end kit and handle bars :( please help!

did your slide get a little ovaled from something to heavy on it?? or someone stepped on it. it could be ovaled on the top/bottom portion which is getting hung up.

it may be it! i did put my tank and fenders on it to roll it up to wash it after i had the motor out of it and i had the tank with some gas it in on it for a couple days maybe it was sitting on it a little thank you for the help i will go take a look should i just buy a new one or try to sand it down a little with light grit sand paper

well i meant the little slide in the carb that is getting stuck. i would look to see if there is any scoring on it at all. also check to make sure the little dot where the slide goes isnt buggered up and is hitting the slide from sliding in.

Do you have the slide in backwards Beavis??

Hope it's in right and your running some race gas or that top end will suffer.........

i wish i had it in backwards :( i tryed bolth ways and it dosnt even slide easily in or out. i pushed it in and it would go until the slide is flesh with the top of the carb and i thought it was just the slide in back wards and its not :( i just went down to check and i was putting it in the right way . i hope it its sumthing simple because it ran fine after i put the carb rebuild in it then i brang her in for a new piston and now the slide seems to big to fit any ideas

I'd keep the stock one over crappy chinese one. Some people say they cause a bog going from idle to wot that they didnt have with stock carb...

Mesure the slide at different point around it with a micrometer. Like yamaha driver said it might by slightly ovaled.

are you sure your needle isnt bent? it may come flush with the top of the carb while your needle is sitting beside the brass part.....
