A 1986 ( so he says 86 ) Honda 250R with a bunch of extra parts . He says the bike has about 10 hours on fresh piston and bore .20 , mild port N polish , fmf exhaust , 36mm pwk carb , and 3 sets of tires. The blaster i have about a grand into it was a winter project but the bike has been completely rebuilt built with new tires and the list goes on. Maybe get 1200.00 for the blasterif i sold it our right. Any input on this Atc would be great , are there any visual differences between the 85 & 86 ? Here is a picture .

It looks a little rough but I bet it will clean up very nice. Price wise , you guys are in the same ballpark
Take it for a spin. If it checks out OK do it.
It is an 86 judging by the swingarm, seat, front rim color. The motor should be gray on an 86, the 85's were black

Head light also says '86 R.

I would do it immediately. That r is worth a lot more then a blaster. And 10 times the machine.

Looks like an 86 to me. Id go for it as long as it all checks out. Hell probably even if it needed a few things too.

Needs front forks rebuilt , silencer , tail light , chain , and the motor is off a 86 trx250R.
Still worthy trade ?

I would say go for it! The 250r's have pretty much held their value over the years, Blaster just seem to go down in value. I really think you will be happy with the 250r, like someone else said , it is twice the bike. Plus Blasters are a dime a dozen, 250r's are not.

Blasturds are one of the most common quads around, and they rarely sell in good to awesome shape what a 250R goes for. You can buy a good looking, lightly modded blaster for $1500 or less. You can't TOUCH a 250R for that around here.

i would do it in a heart beat but that is me. even if it needed a few hundred in work. i owned 2 blasters when i was younger they are cheap and they are everywhere. like some one else said 250r are not. i own a r now and they are twice the machine for sure. that is all IMHO. ask him if he has reciepts for the rebuild or whatever work done. people can say that all they want but u would never know with out proof or tearing into a machine.

Yeah I'd trade in a second. The Blaster is a dime a dozen they will go down in value. the R is Getting harder to find every day so you know they are going up in value. R will smoke a blaster no prob, Also its a 3wheeler:p

Well . . . . It's a done deal ! I swapped even up and it came with some extra's. I was sold once it fired up first kick and seen the paper work to the rebuild. He also kicked in a extra swingarm with lonestar bearing carrier and axle not in picture. It is a 1986 and it still has the original plastics and seat. Here are some pictures i took after i got it home. . . Now it's time to get the work done that needs to be on it .

Yes , He cleaned it up and washed it. He said the only reason he was getting rid of it was because his girlfriend wanted the blaster and they were more into riding 4 wheelers in the trails up north michigan . I am happy with the trade , he even gave me the gold rims for the rear , and a new AC grab bar.

You won't regret that one one bit. That R is plenty clean enough I wouldn't have thought about it. Congrats though very good looking machine you have there

Thanks , I have a 84R and a Banshee so i know the power of these machines. Just debating if i want to make her a everyday rider or doing it up right . I built that blaster as a winter project and was just looking to cash out on it and stumbled across this deal/trade.
