Just how close does a 400ex exhaust mount up on a 350X?I have heard it mounts right up.Only have to modify the end to connect to silencer.

What really pisses me off is that I have to spend appx. 60$ on a header just to see so with a mig welder and oxy/acetylene on hand.

Half the guys say, "BOLT ON" yet others claim it needs a bit of fitment work. I've never been able to get a straight answer myself. Even the size difference question seems QUESTIONABLE!!

Thats not good enough for the average guy with just hand tools and such.

Anyhow, we'll see what type of responses you get this go around.

Doesn't matter to me as I run a Cobra headpipe and a Supertrapp silencer and cone and I can make anything work anyhow........

It's like "How many times do we have to explain to people that CR80 front calipers fit on a 200X or a 350X rear caliper"; We just never seem to get one guy to commit to the swap.

I think we need a "What is a bolt on swap, or what mods are needed" Forum.

That's a good idea.

You are right when half of the people say yes when searching the web.Only info I found is the 400ex stock pipe is the same size as stock 350x.Only reason I am asking, might be able to fit up aftermarket 400 exhaust. If I don't have to do a lot to the header pipe.Finding a pipe for a 350x is tough.

Some also say the flanges are the same, others say they aren't.

The headpipe will hit the back or the engine behind the kickstart, you must cut it right after the y, grind it at an angle to pull the back end up and re weld it!!! THEY WILL NOT BOLT UP WITHOUT THIS MODIFICATION!!!

The front side is a direct bolt on, I had to cut the back half (after the merge) and reshape it. I am currently running a 04-05 TRX 450 muffler that I mounted first, and made the head pipe line up to it. I got the TRX muffler cheap on Ebay, and need a quiet muffler, so that is why I am running it. This way if I ever want a up grade any slip on for a TRX 450 will bolt right on. I was able to reuse the piece I cut off and part of the TRX-450 head pipe to make up the new headpipe piece.
