Looking for a crank for my TRI-Z.
Hot rods says the rod is the same for TRI-Zand YZ 83-89
Will the crankshafts interchange?

Tyler it should work, just no lighting from what I understand because of the crank being too short on that side!

Yes if I recall correctly the taper on the flywheel side of the crank is different from the Tri-Z.

You recall correctly, Billy. You can use a YZ crank only if you use the whole YZ electrical system. The YZ crank and flywheel are what makes it rev out on top end so much quicker than the TriZ which has these guys who use a YZ powervalve on a TriZ scratching their heads in baffled disapointment.
Good used TriZ cranks are very hard to find. You are better off getting the common YZ rod kit and having your crank rebuilt.

My cranks is actually wants screwed. Rod is stil good.
If your left Tri Z crank web is good, (flywheel) side, you can buy the YZ crank and swap your left web onto it and run the Z electrics. I have done it before.
The right sides of the YZ crank are identical to the Z..Just the left web was different.
