And i'm not ready yet
I've been away from this site for far too long but like most life has a way of getting in the way. I'm going to summarize quite a bit as my pc is acting up but to make a long stort short my x has been apart for the better part of 2 seasons now. Was having chain issues in the fall, went to adjust it properly and the swingarm bolt was stuck. Ended up taking over 3 months to get the thing out and it was fubar'd pretty good so i took it to the local machine shop to see if they could fix it. They ended up taking another 3 months to fix it. In the meantime i've been bored with a stripped trike in my basement. I've started polishing random bits, degreasing everything, ordering new parts to replace worn out/broken ones. Made a nice list of things to get for the engine. etc
Anyways on to some pics of some progress. Hoping to have everything ready to go by may sometime, but funds permitting there's still tons to do. Sorry about the poor lighting in most of these pics. Better ones will be taken as the reassembly starts and we get some nicer weather to work outside.
T he last run before the chain fiasco.

Before getting the swingarm off.

Stock front wheel. Nothing special

Same front wheel and fork after a few hours of work.

The machine I came up with for buffing some other parts. So much faster then the buffing wheels and a highspeed drill. The motor is only 1/3 hp but it works fairly well.

some work on the tripples, not perfect, but this is a rider thats getting a facelift. Also would end up taking off way too much aluminum to take all the blemish's out. Going to look for a set in better shape and redo the polishing.

And last but not least CHECK YOUR STEERING STEM BEARINGS! otherwise you end up with this... When i pulled it apart the cage was in 4 pieces and only one or two bearings fell out. Good thing I have a spare stem. Also going to switch to tapered roller bearings now.
