so it doesnt slip when you go from a dead stop to first you can punch it and its fine... but when in second gear or higher rolling at a low rpm or half throttle ish and hit the gas it slips you kinda have to ease on the gas all the way then shift. which clutch is it.

Try adjusting the clutch. You can find out how by looking in a manual that is available on the site here. After you adjust, and the clutch is still acting up, then it needs replacement/attention inside. Its the little nut with the flat head bolt sticking out of it on the side of the case. You have to loosen the nut, take the flat head bolt all the way in, then back it out a specified amount (cant remember off the top of my head)

yea did that a couple times.... fked it up once and had to take the cover off. and you turn the bolt counter clockwise till resistance felt then back out 1/4th. but i dont know what clutch is bad.... i dont want to replace both if its not neccessary

Prob just the main clutch plates but you need to inspect it all while its apart !!! Wouldnt hurt to buy HD clutch springs also .

being that it takes off fine in first and slips in the higher gears I would say it's the main clutch/plates if it were the centrifugal clutch it would slip in all gears and wouldnt take off very well

ok. cause in first you can do wheelies from a dead stop no problem. Any preferences on clutch kits?? i have 1 reference for the barrnett clutches but they are on the expensive side. which i wont mind but if they are not any better than others it dosnt make sence

It's the main clutch for sure. If it was the centrifical clutch going bad you would have to rev the motor up more before it would engage.

Main clutch, maybe they have Barnett or OEM plates for it. I'd avoid the cheaper "clutch kits" out there.........

if the steel plates arent warped, rusted, heat damaged, ect. and are within the service specs you will only need the fiber plates and springs

Barnett's is NOT a "kit". No springs are included. Only the friction plates.

Deffinatly your clutch, i had this problem on my 200s just recently, ive replaced the friction disks and it works great now.
You will have to soak the disks ''IN THE PROPER ATV OIL'' for a few hours or over night and your golden once youve gotten them installed.
Its like night and day when you replace them, able to take off in 2nd spinning all the way to fifth !
