so on ebay and wiseco website it says 2mm overbore to 4mm overbore. that seems somewhat outrageous can the wall even go that big?? anyone know werer some .50 or 1mm overbore wiseco pistons are?? i looked on ebay but they seem to be 2mm-4mm also

buy a good 200x cylinder ..... stay away from the xr200 as the fins are smaller

I agree, if you are going to bore the 185s to get up near 200cc you might as well go with a 200x top end. All the parts bolt on.

ok im not going for more cc just its smoking and worst comes to worst its going to need a rebuild. what is the difference from the 185s to 200x cylinder?? since i was looking at 10.25 to 1 compression ratio pistons for the 185s. and apparenty they bore out big but i dont want to go super big since then i have to rejet the carb. im pretty sure the motor is a std piston right now.

If you are just going for a cleanup bore, you could go with this piston:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-HONDA-ATC185-ATC185S-50-OVERSIZE-PISTON-SUDCO-/300216667558?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item45e64ecda6&vxp=mtr

That is the 2nd overbore size or 20 thousandths

ok mabey not a cheap i was looking to go for a wiseco 10.25 to 1 piston but i might go with that depends on what the engine looks like

Their all the same cylinders 185s-200  its just that the 185s starts life as a 63mm and the 200 is 65mm but the od on the cylinder wall is the same .

o thats why wiseco has up to 4mm over bore im guessing since the wall is just that thick?? thats wierd lol. is there a difference in 200x piston to 185s piston if i buy the higher compression?

Depending on the year of your 185, id just go with a 200x Wiseco piston... it just has that SNAP in it when you get the cyl bored and matching piston+rings !
Thats what im running rigght now in a 84 200s, but its just a .20 over bore from stock but its a hell of a difference! It really wakes that tiny engine up!
The stock 185 piston is like a bowl shape on top, the 200x stock piston is flat, now with a Wiseco 200x piston its like a dome shape to give it that extra compression

I dont see a difference though they look exactly the same.. the same compression and everything

Theres a big difference in proformance by far.

Just buy a 65mm 10.5:1 Wiseco piston, bore to fit and be done with it.

lol ^^ i know i just dont see what the difference iis in the 2. they dont become a b*it*h to start after the higher compression do they?? im pretty sure my decomp works never really used it lol.

If you ride allot just go with a flat top 200x piston the wiseco 10.25 piston will not last as long and will be harder to start !!!!!!

I kinda forgot it was rope start, that might kinda suck with a higher comp piston. It isn't bad with a kicker, but in that case you are kicking not pulling.

Thay aint that bad to start with recoil starter.... my 200s has a hi comp 200x wiseco... Id go for the 200x wiseco piston just my 5 cents
