I need some advice on stripping my engines black paint of my 82 R. Ive heard of people using plastic beads. Does anyone have any knowledge on this topic? What is the setup required?

What I've done to my 85 and 86 r is just send them to your local machine shop to get either sand blasted or yes media blasted as you said. They're usually not to expensive at all!

it can take a little more time but is something you can do yourself: Chemical stripper sold at hardware stores. I used Jasco in the spray can on my T3 engine and it took a few coats to get it to bare metal, but it did work. I pressure washed the whole thing when I was done, as I was splitting the cases and replacing bearings anyway.
