Nice trike, I just can't get over how they look like a kids trike because of their styling compared to the 250r..

Just my observation..

Very nice. Looks like an old race bike. Love the Maier Ram Air plate. Klemm Research stickers.. hmm.. Got any closer pics of the motor, pipe and silencer? Looks like a flat slide Mikuni on it.. Just a shot in the dark.. could that bike be connected to Jackie Meadows? I think he ran the #11, and he's from Tennessee.

It runs but it is surging a little coming back down to idle. I'm going to do a leak test on it and see if there's any leaks. It pulls hard on topend but nothing down low. It has a 38 mikuni. The pipe is just a Doesn't Go (aka DG) pipe and silencer. I think this bike had alot of history. It would be cool if it is a old Jackie Meadows bike.

Finished the compression test and leak test. It has 150psi but it has a leak in between the cases. I tried tightening the bolts but it still leaked. Got to split the cases and seal it up.

I was tearing it down today and found out that it has a motoplat ignition. I need to pull the flywheel and was wondering what puller I need to do it. The threads are coarser than my 250r puller. Any one have any idea what thread it is?http://i811.photobucket.com/albums/zz40/stroberts22/IMG_1612.jpg

Dammit Man!!! Score!!! Pull the headpipe off and see if the exhaust port is split. It may have a KX cylinder too...

It doesn't have a bridge but it has been ported.

I think you picked up a gem... There is a gasket on the flywheel side. No RTV.. lol

Very cool find! Very good looking machine. Are motoplate ignitions sought after too?

I fixed the leak in the cases and put a new piston in it to get her back going and that thing is going to kill me with that twist throttle. It has alot of power. I see why you Tecate guys love them so much!

how did you set the timing?

how did you set the timing?
It was hard because the fly wheel doesn't use a woodruff key to index it in the right place. I got the piston at top dead center and lined up the marks on the stator and armature and it fired then the ignition has slotted mounting holes to fine tune it to get it perfect. It is a powerful ignition. It has a little bit of kick back but it runs so well that I hate to retard it a little to fix it. I also need some tips from someone that uses a twist throttle to get rid of the dreaded whisky throttle.

That's the one. I sent Jackie a message on facebook asking if he ran the 11 in 85. I only seen pictures of him on a 111 on this model. I bet the cylinder is ported by Klemm Research. The power is unreal. It's almost unridable with the twist throttle. I hate to take the twist throttle off it because it was on it way back then.

I asked about the ignition to see if you a definitive set up for the motoplat. I can't seem to find the proper set up instructions for it. I will warn you the backing plate is weak and doesn't hold up great to the t3's vibrations. I ended up having a custom plate made. I have a t3 with a motion pro thumb throttle that works well,my other 3 are twist. It's 6 of one 1/2 a dozen to me but it's all personal preference

I have no motoplat instructions, I made my own set up directions and got it right. You got yours to work?

You got yours to work?I had it running great until the backing plate broke. I had a new one made but I havn't used it yet since. For the riding I do I would rather have the torque of the stock ignition but I will hold onto the motoplat just incase I find a use for it

I made a walk around and start video of it today. Need to get some video of it in action. I'm begining to get use to it. I can run it hard and it just comes back down to idle without surging. I'm liking the Mikuni carb.

Very cool find! Very good looking machine. Are motoplate ignitions sought after too?I wouldn't say sought after because there were not many that made it to trikes,so people just don't know about them.I would say they are very cool and definitely worth having.
