That was 27 years ago, the world is no longer in it for us.

There will be rich and poor and probably an uprising at some point........

85 was the year my dad took me too look at my first 3 wheeler. The one he rode straight out of the parking lot, across the road, into a drive way, off a bridge, landing in the creek. He was somewhat drunk, needing to make a left turn, in rocks, on a 200X with a twist throttle. That was the day he told me "I'd never own one of those things". LOL

I was 7 and we had just bought the 200s for the cottage up north.
Memories I am trying to relive with buying the 250sx last summer.

Was 14 and got my first real job working at David's Place in Montville CT scooping ice cream. Owned a honda 110 and was actively looking to buy a nice 200X. Was making good money for a teenager ($400 cash) a week. Back then life was simple....Looking back I would have invested in some 426 hemi cars and Boss or Shelby mustangs. I still retch when I watch Barret Jackson and remember the cars available for sale in the late 80s early 90s. We had a drag strip in Colchester, CT about 10 minutes from where I grew up and lots of locals had killer cars!!!

theres some HUGE differences in the numbers you listed. I thought gas was around the dollar mark when I started driving in 2000. either way, ya there needs to be a major cost of living increase.

1985......

Motoworld was on TV every week...

Three wheelers were in their prime...

You had a choice between Beta & VHS...

JT Racing sponsored everybody...

Sand Scorcher had the coolest stickers...

None of the girls my age were grandparents... (and quite a few were still hot)

Tim Richmond was ready to rule the world of NASCAR...

You could buy a brand new street legal 2-Stroke RZ350...

There were no underage drinking laws and we took full advantage of it ...:D

Burger King had a salad bar...

You could still get laid at the drive in...

Everybody had neon colored zebra print bandanas...

You could set off a 1/4 stick in the high school parking lot without going to federal prison...

Ron LECHIEN took the 125 Class on a CR
Jeff Ward took the 250 Class on a KX
Broc Glover won the 500cc Outdoors on a YZ490
Danny Magoo Chandler was riding for KTM
David Bailey was the shining star of motocross

Thats all for now, I'm almost out of hair spray...

I was graduating high school. Driving a 78 mustang cobra II and jumping into the working world full time. School is just a memory, beat the crap out the car and sold it, but just can't seem to get rid of that working thing. Would love to go back!
