........Wish I could pay you to restore my "Warlock" 185s. lol

Sorry not trying to hijack the thread but the forks after are off of an 85 YZ80 and are 31mm if I remember correctly. I will be watching this thread closely. THis will be an awesome build for sure. :naughty:

Those are NOT PCCC front forks. PCCC front forks are cast. I'm glad to see that frame went to a good home. I'm anxious to see how this turns out. It just bothers me I leave town to go ice racing and shortline sneaks a project in on me! LOL

Shortline, what kind of shock is that on the rear? Is it an air shock, and is it era correct, or is it something new?

shortline10
02-12-2012, 04:58 PM
The tripples are made by High performance also , very similar to Big Al's tripples .

What? No Fiberglass? This is a hot looking trike. Get that recoil starter refinished. Did you ever settle on a front end yet? Please side wide tire 250r. Doh, I keep forgetting you have the Hi Performance triples. What forks are in those triples? I have the Hi Performance triples on my RD350 frame. The thing is, I keep looking at the pictures of Curtiss Sparks and Tommy Gaian on the Nicholson frames with the 250r front ends and I can't get them out of my mind. I like my women like I like my trikes, wide in the front and soft in the back!!!

shortline10
03-15-2012, 07:14 PM
I did some really hard looking for fiberglass and couldn't find any so Maier it is for now .
The triples that came with the frame are odd because their at 30mm but I guess I could cram a 31mm fork in their but I might just splurge and use a set of nos big Al's forks that are 33mm , they even have the chrome lower fender brackets so its very tempting .

I just got in a 2nd set of fiberglass rear fenders. The first set I have looks like they are pulled off a set of factory fenders, but these fenders look a little different. I don't know if someone would want to mold and repop them or not.

any more progress on the 185s. there is a guy on ebay sells repop fiberglass fenders front and rear for 150.00 good quality. your build looks great.

shortline10
03-18-2012, 08:29 AM
Yes I know Josh sells the fiberglass repo's but nothing for the rear of a 185s .
I did do a few little things to the bike but customers bikes are first and taking up all my time .
Prob going to play with intake manifolds today and maybe get the front tripples sorted .
Will take a few pics this afternoon !!!!!

Ok,Mike,I did not find the cables I was looking for. I found all the Yamaha,Suzuki,Kawi cables. Hondas live on their own! lol,So,I measured a 83 ATC 200 sitting here..24-25 inches long! I knew there were 3 different lengths. I can call a distributor Wednesday,1st day I'll be home : ( And have them measure and drop ship if we have too. And I own them if I can find them. My son and his friend helped me move stuff! That doesn't work too good!

Hey Mike, when I bought the PK kit for this it came with a pair of four inch longer cables. Note print. When I was cleaning this up I thought maybe I would need new ones so I emailed Barnett and asked if they would still make them. They said "sure, just send cash"...........or something like that. Well, I didn't need them so I can't say just how much cash they needed. Just saying!

Zeeker, I have one of those brackets you can copy if you need to. You may have to redrill the bolt holes for the fork tubes as a lot of the fork tubes, the mounting holes are just slightly different.

shortline10
04-29-2012, 10:27 PM
Its the brake stay bracket that comes with the Big Al's kit . I have a bracket like yours as well . Yes this is the front tire / wheel I will be using . Fork tubes seem a little long so I might need to slide them up a little .

What kind of rope do you use in the pull starters on the bigger motors? Any thing special?

shortline10

1/4" marine grade nylon rope for the 185/200 and 3/16" for the 90/110 .

Been playing around with different motor parts to get the most out of her , decided to go with a megacycle 435 lift cam and the Custom ATC ported head I got from Mrclean and I think I got her now , what a beast ! Also installed a chrome aftermarket recoil for a little more bling .

Bill , this little bugger is a blast to ride , the low stance and the geometry of the frame makes it handle great , would make it an awesome little tt racer .

Awesome bike, is that the original rear hub and axle from the 185s or is it from something else?
Why has this mod not taken off with the 200cc bikes, s,m,e?

Thanks
MrC.

shortline10
02-17-2020, 07:02 AM
Axle is aftermarket but for a 1982 Atc 185s . Wheel hubs are G-force extended with the more common 4 x 110mm bolt pattern .

MrConcdid
02-17-2020, 11:45 AM
That is a good reason this 4/150 bolt pattern stinks.
Thanks for clearing that up.

I really need to stop looking at these builds. I've got a suspended 185s and a spare suspended frame I've got fir sale locally and I'm getting a few low offers ($300) for a running trike. I think I'm just going to hold onto the running one and just make it nice like yours. jim

If not for the distance I would have already tried to buy that suspended frame from you.
