So i can't get an answer on .org so maybe i can get one here....the thing is i got an all balls rear axle bearing kit and it had two bearings and two seals, then an extra different looking bearing seal which the trike did have when i dissassembled it but i can't remember where exactly it goes i did put it where i though it made sence to go but lets see if i was right....let me know if you know it didn't show it in the swingarm diagnostics on the service manual and the bearing kit didn't have instructions of course. also here is a pic of my newly reassembled 200x roller

I just replaced the bearings in my 83 200x and dont remember any other bearing than the 2 and then the 2 dust seals. Where exactly did you put this bearing and what does it look like?

i also received the extra seal with my all-balls kit for my 200x , its just an extra since the kit supports several makes and models.

well the funny part is i removed one off the bike when i dissassembled...thats the one that the picture is of... so it must go on somewhere

Yep it goes in the trash can  Universal kit so that seal is not for your bike .

i have the same schematic in my service manual. but if you look at the rear axle schematic you will see some kind of seal or washer slid on to the axle when you slide it into the swingarm so i tought maybe that was what it was for

Those are o-rings there should be two of them.

are you sure? there was only one and only one came of the trike when i dissassembled.....how come no one else knows what they are? and where to they go they weren't on the schematics....i guess i have two if i need them because the old one is still in good shape

Alright if you look at the pictures the arrows are pointing at the o-rings I'm talking about. One diagram is straight outta the service manual and the other is a parts diagram, because both have them shown I'm pretty sure there supposed to be there.
I could be wrong it's been awhile since I pulled a 200x rear apart but I'm almost positive that they fit in there.

want to hear something funny.....i saw that axle schematic and put the one i had right where it shows on the service manual because it fit right in there....but are saying i should put one on the brake rotor side too because i do see where the old one i have would fit right in there, there is a little gap between the rotor and swingarm even though everything is tight

Wait a second, didn't you get one odd seal type thing??

Axle bearings/seals do not come with brake rotor hub o-rings...............EVER!

ya it's a seal and there is a picture at the top of the thread and i don't think it is an o ring but it do think that what is shown in the service manual schematics might be what i have but i am so confused at this point lol i slid it on the axle before i put the axle in the swingarm all the way up to the flat ring on the axle and it fit right on there perfectly so i thought that must be it, anyways i sent a message to who i bought the kit off of and maybe since they sold it to me they know what the parts are for

You have myself, shortline and others saying you don't need it.

ESPECIALLY - Shortline (MIKE) - He is the 200 EXPERT.............

Here is the link to the all balls site and you can see that there is 2 seals and then 1 other seal but unfortunately in the .pdf instructions they tell how to install the bearings but don't mention the seals.....maybe everyone is right and it is for a different machine as the kit is for a few trikes/atv's http://www.allballsracing.com/25-1122.html

ya i plan on taking the advice.....especially if as you say he is the 200x expert the main thing that made me question it as i said previously is that i removed the same one off the trike.....head scratcher

the thing with removing the same one from the bike , is that perhaps the last person who did the bearings also bought a universal kit and figured " maby it goes here" . but it is absolutely 100% not required.

The kit is definatly a universal kit and the extra seal is just a dust seal for a brake drum cover !!!!

BAD BAD ADVICE...... Made him second guess himself......

Ya don't get orings for axle bearing and seal set ups.

Ya it did confuse me a bit lol but I mostly was waiting to get feedback from a few different people to see what the consensus was and make my decision and the consensus is leave it off so it is off lol
