Have any of you guys "repaired" a final drive problem in this way (SKIP TO 5 MINUTE MARK):

This isn't me - I would have waited a week to find the parts. But this is a guy I'm subscribed to on youtube and was just curious to see if any of you guys have tried to procrastinate from replacing these parts by welding them.

I like their ingeniuty, but I'm with you, I would have waited to find the proper parts and fixed it "correctly". Entertaining video though.

The axle and ring gear and hubs are all different hardness's.

It may work for awhile but it will break. If thats all they had, thats all they had and the parts were junk anyhow.......

He can 't find a axle for a SX anywhere?!?!.....I think he just don't want to pay for.....
