Could someone get me the fork diameter and center to center spacing in the triple clamps from an 86/7 Tecate? I am thinking about using 86/7 triple clamps on my 84 and the rest of the front end parts from a 350X or 250R. And just to clarify, if I use an 86/7 Tecate swinger on my 84 do I use the 84 or 86/7 linkage?

The forks are 41mm and the spacing is 300mm. Why not use a tecate front end?

I have complete front ends from both 250R and 350X, using those parts as a front end upgrade would be cheap for me. I was hoping that the spacing would be close enough to use a Honda wheel, hub and brake on Honda forks in the 86/7 triple clamps. This would let me use OEM Kawasaki steering stem, bearings and fender.

You would use the 84 linkage (with the adj 86-87 dogbone if you want adjustability) the problem is that the linkage is centered on the 84-85 and offset on the 86-87. You need to move the offset 86-87 swingarm mounting position for the dogbone to the middle to match the 84 linkage. I bought an 86-87 cantilever thinking I could mount it into my 84-85 frame to make it easier to use the 86-87 swingarm and it would be too much work.. Easier to move the mount on the swingarm.

dcreel, are the 86/7 swingarms steel or aluminium? And, what is the purpose of an adjustable dog bone?

The 86/87 swing arms are alu.
IMO, the adjustable linkage is to,,, well give you options of adjustment from either a drag race set up or more hilly, MX style terrain.
And/or different folks, weigh different.

Yep, what John said.. You will also gain +2" using the 86-87 swinger.

If your plans dont work out I have some complete 86-7 Tecate front ends- tripples/forks/hub/rotor/axle/spacers.

The plan is this because of cost, I would prefer Kawasaki parts but I don't have any. Are your parts ready to bolt on, forks not needing rebuilt? Are you needing any Honda parts or looking to straight sale?
