hey guys, i got the pipe on my wheeler, i did a plug chop and its running lean. how many jet sizes do you think i should go up for the winter weather? plus i am debating on taking the airbox lid off since it has a k&n filter. will i see any gain in taking the lid off? thanks

if its a stock bike other that the pipe it will prolly have a 110 main depending on the year. buy a 112 and a 115 that will prolly cover it. it can be a bit of messing around to get it just right but its worth it. dont forget about the needle position and pilot too.
i notice a bit of a difference with the lid off in the upper rpm range, but check your plug again it may throw off your jetting again.

i would start by going up one size.....only adjust one thing at a time and keep rechecking.....i have an 83 with a bassani...i ended up with the stock jet and just adjusted the needle 2 notch's but every engine will be different...good luck and be patient...sounds great eh?

the pipe sounds awesome!! and i was thinkin it might need a few sizes bigger since its going to be driven in winter weather with the airbix lid off. maybe i'll buy one the 1st size bigger, then maybe one 3 or 4 sizes bigger for winter

now im kinda thinking a few little mods would be fun on this trike. maybe a cam and a 10.25:1 piston? you can run pump gas on 10.25:1 right? also, is a xr 200 cam a reasonable upgrade? or would a web cam or some other aftermarket be a better option. thanks

26ml carb and intake from a mid 80,s xr200r works really good with a bassani. the pipe adds a good low and mid range torque curve and the bigger carb adds to the mid and top end. pretty good bolt on's in my books there's a good thread on this subject.

i bought 2 jets today, a 112 and a 115. hopefully one will work. if not, i'll have to go with a 118 or something

Might be easier to jet with a air box lid

ok so i put the 115 in and i did a plug chop. the plug is pitch black. im htinkin the 115 is too rich. i bet the 112 will be perfect. i left the airbox lid on for now because my filter could use a recleaning plus some oik and i dont have that right now

Since BRAPP has webbed fish hands/fingers.........
Get that lid off or drill allot of 1.5" holes in it; You are losing gains!!
Then jet it up some more, maybe 1 size pilot and fiddling wit the air screw.
BIG DIFFERENCE!!

i think the 115 is too rich, when i first started the wheeler, it ran good, but as soon as the float bowl filled with gas, it spits and sputters and hardly stays running. i'm gonna switch to the 112 tomorrow and hope that fixes the problem. i did take the airbox lid off this time also

well i messed around with it some more today. i put the 115 back in and the plug is a nice coffee brown color. it seems to be running really good. BUT, when i shut the machine off, i get extra gas running out of the carb. its not coming out of the overflow line. im confused.. anybody have any ideas?

we4ll sounds like your wasting time if your tryiung to jet with the carb overflowing with gas, fix/replace flkoat neadle or the float silly!!
