How come you can go buy a machine that has been sitting a while. When you test it out it fires runs like a clock,no smoke. You get it home still no smoke or other issues. So you decide to change the oil and then it smokes.Only when you start it and clears up.So you would think just valve seals, but that doesn't help.It isn't black smoke either from a plugged up carb.Defintately blueish, white oil burning smoke.

I wonder that myself, and then remember that have been sitting for awhile and that oils have changed their ingredients since the last time the trike was ran. It makes me wonder what they have done to our motor oils, I read somewhere that when breaking in a new camshaft you are supposed to add zinc to the oil or risk the chance of ruining the new cam.

You need new ,fresh rings, and hone. Or bore and new Piston and rings. Depending on what the bore gauge tells you. The old oil hides it well till you put fresh new in there.
