Wow, that's looking really nice. Any major mods to the 200X front end, or did it bolt right up?

I dont think anything to major. The 200x steering stop needs to be trimed back a bit to clear the frame and if you wanted the stop to work it would need a little welding on the front of the frame. I am going over there in the morning and can find out more.

I understand the point of gain by putting a 200x front end on it but what are you going to do about the cluster panel that is supposed to bolt to the forks, your choke, keyed ignition, and headlight are all mounted right there so I see alot more work in the future if he is wanting it to all work again. Also I really don't see enough of a steering gain by going down to the smaller front tire, you still only have the same length rear axle and semi sport rear suspension plus shaft drive which has plenty of torque, to make the change worth doing.

The headlight assembly with the key and choke are all mounted together as one cluster thats only held to the stock 225 triple clamp by 2 bolts so I wouldn't imagine it would be to hard to fab up a bracket to bolt it on. The front tire on a 1st gen 200x is actually taller then what came on a 225 stock. I think this is a really neat build. I look forward to seeing is all come together. Keep us posted!!

I agree it is a really interesting build as well, I guess I'm just a little more into restoring to original than modifying. No offense meant, and when I said smaller front tire I should have been more clear as I meant thinner than the 22-11-8 that is stock on the 225. I can see brackets being made to hold the instrument cluster, but I worry as I have three of those clusters that have broken apart, as they were not a great design. I will keep following this thread as I will like to see how things turn out, and I am not trying to be negative, in any way just trying to throw out some future problems so you can make a plan for them if you haven't already.
