83 BigRed Carb Issue

Hey, well i got up to the point to see if my big red will run. it runs, but as soon as it ran, revved right up :wondering i turned the idle screw ways down, reset the fuel screw at 1 3/4 turn out, still revs right up. check the throttle for kinks, slide works fine, im confused. any help?

If the cable and throttle are right. You have the slide in 180 degrees off. The notch on the bottom SITS on the throttle adjuster screw. the side with the thin slot goes on the little pin. That should fix ya.

Thanks for telling me to check that! as i was checking i noticed the slide stop screw[the one that goes on top of the carb] was backed out (dumb mistake of mine). now she idles fine! now for the rest of the problems.. thanks again!
