Whenever i ride my 3 wheeler i have to rev the engine up really high for first gear to catch and if i let off the gas the clutch slips again and i have to rev up again for it to catch it also does it in all the other gears like when im in 5 if i let off the gas the clutch slips and i have to gear alway down to first and rev up the motor to catch so i can go again. I took the one way clutch off and the drum has some excessive grooves from the pads in it. Could this cause the slipage or is that normal or could it be worn out plates on the other clutch?

Problay the 1 way clutch, the others are mostly for shifting (what ive been told). Not trying to over run your thread but when mine shuts off i hear a whirring sound then it gets slower then a Clunk noise when it stops. yours do that 2?

There is a screw and nut on the outside of your right case cover that screw adjusts the centerfugal clutch which engages the gears. If you have to rev up the motor for first gear that sounds like the screw is out of adjustment. If you loosen the nut and turn the screw in that should fix the problem and if it doesnt then it sounds like an internal issue like the centerfugal clutch or the clutch its self.

Yea i tried adjusting the screw but it didnt fix the problem im pretty sure it is the one way clutch because of the excessive scratches in the drum but is their any way to tell if their is something wrong the clutch, not the one way, without taking it apart?

hmmm i dont think so... my yamaha dx had the same problem and i replaced the clutch disks and still had the problem, and my 1 way clutch had the same deep grove marks. i had to find new drum and pads

So the drum and pads fixed your problem? And if i go new is their anything i can put in oil to break it in?

yep, not sure about breaking it in?? i just took it easy for about 20 min and mine was fine. mine was problay not as wore out as yours but like with mine if i hit the gas at about half throttle the engine would rev and wouldnt do much unitl it would catch. mine was really bad in low rpms and gears like a small incline in first from a dead stop then hit the gas and it wouldnt move..
