well here we go again!!!! this is going to be fun!!! AND I DO MEAN FUN!!!! so i have had this idea for several years, never found the right parts.. well i did FINALLY FIND THE RIGHT PARTS, so here it is, an atc 70 powered by a 250cc loncin twin,,,, YES!!!! i found this motor in december so i decieded to get to it and get it going for the up and coming DUMONT 70 regatta!! i started on this january 2nd. so its been a quick one. all i have to do now is tear it down and paint it up,,,, the bad news .. the rulz say you can only use a horizontal cylinder engine!!!! WHAT ????? to keep it where nobody has an unfair advantage??? what about the juys spending several thousand to build the crap out of these little motors?? money always has an unfair advantage!!! so i said screw them ,,,, here is a few picts and i will make it a built thread when i tear it down,,, the first picture is the second day of the build... it really went pretty fast... going to take it to work tomorrow and spin the tires in the dirt,,, should be fun!!!

Um, how hard is that to control? How much time did you have in just getting the frame setup for the 250. I cant wait to see vids of this.

Another mad 70 is born. Awesome job. Some tank mods I see. Stretched frame. Does it have a manual clutch? Electric start too. Can't wait to see the final product.

KASEY

the front wheel and hub is lt500 suzuki ,, it has a 5 speed manual clutch and is electric start,,, i cut the frame and added 2 inches in height,, then i added 6 inch frame strech ,,, it starts right up and sounds so friggen cool the silencers are cr 250 cut and one is flopped around so they actually work out as right and left mounting,,,, its going to work tomorrow to spin the tires in the dirt and see if its going to work,, it looks like its going to go around 60 with the gearing i had to start with,, the front forks are 185s forks cut down to match the 70 frame... the first pict you can see what i did to the frame.. the second is final fitting of the motor,,, with the front down tube already built.

Think this one might be over top!So what is the ride report?Only question is there going to be a front brake in the future. Not only does it look bad ---,sounds it too. That exhaust sounds really good in the youtube clip. You really like your projects and it shows in the quality.Do you have a 70 bucket list?Or does it come to you that easily?

one of the trickest ive seen!! serious mods to the tank, what exactly had to be done to make the tank fit?? the finned piece covering the open section of frame in the rear looks awsome!!

I went to the ATC70 Regatta with Kasey and his son in law......He cut and re-welded the tank to fit over the valve covers of that motor. The finned section on the back is from a water fountain. Kasey built every bit of this machine and did an amazing job. It was a hit at the show for sure but unfortunately it did not qualify by their standards of a 70 due to not having a horizontal motor and a down tub to mount the motor. Ridiculous in my opinion but oh well.....

As far as front brakes are concerned he rarely uses them or needs them.

bump!!! for the guys asking questions!!! its a 250cc twin cylinder lonchin motor,, its s exact copy og the honda rebel motor,, so the parts are plentiful... it shifts like a dream and as geared it will fly at a mere 65 mph!!!! i should get it out and post some video .. its s RIOT to ride it!!! the reason i guess it got hidden so quick.. it took 32 days to build it from start to finish.....
