will a 350X shock work on a 85 tri z???

i know some one that has a 350 x shock in goood shape that will sell it cheap but i need to no if it will work on my 85 tri z 250 or not.

I have an idea for you. If you cant find out if it will work, and you buy the shock, if its too long make a cusom piece with a joint that looks like the top of a shock on the one end, and the other end like your shock mount on the frame. You put the shock eye part of the piece in the frame mount and have it pointing upward, and hook the shock onto that. Almost like relocating the shock mount. If it shorter point the custom piece down. Its almost like those adjustable shock mounts that they have for 250r's and such, maybe one of those would work? Just an idea though
