1981 Atc250r powered by a 1983 cr480 its not pretty but it runs and stops, and is currently a work in progress,it currently is sporting a 1984 200x front end and a 2007 trx450r rear.Managed to rig up the trx master and modified the original brake lever to work. Has a mikuni 38mm carb from an IT465 I think:wondering, The kicker is made from a 81r kicker, cut and spun and fitted to a CR500 knuckel.Shifter is an extended 81r. Front forks are going back to the 200X and currently waiting on some bushings for a set of 86r forks. Would have had them on but yesterday but I read a thread about someone using honda shadow (or something of the like) bushings for the bottom of the fork, I had originally thought they were neveragin part. questions coments are appreciated.14020714020814020914021014021114021214 0213140214
And please excuse the dirt lol , The little snow we have had so far this year isnt keeping the mud down when its nice enought to ride.
And thx to Big Bore for the making of the mounts and Enginered for the swingarm.

That's quite a collection of parts, but who cares! Looks like fun.

Nice to see more racers on the east coast of canada. My bike has a few odds and ends of different bikes too.

That engine just looks like it belongs in that frame. I love how that jug takes up all the room in that frame. I bet that is one fun trike if you can hold on!

That looks like a MAN's trike right there. Holy crap!

What did it take to get that T-rex rear on there?

Looks good to me!The only thing that worries me is no case saver.Really should have something before to much test riding.

What's up with the left side kicker?

Ive been looking for a case saver for a bout a year now and only just recently has one come up on ebay,it will be on it.The cost to replace theses case's is pretty high, and thats cheap insurance. Fitment wasnt an issue, it was a drop in for me, another member did the leg work, cudos to him, works great so far, and parts will be available for another 20 or so odd years, and the left side kicker because its a 83CR480 open-class dirtbike motor.
I figure it will sit a little better with the 86 front end on it, give me more of an adjustment, as far as stance.

Question: How often does one rebuild a rear break caliper? reason is , it has an aftermarket block off and it almost seems like im hearing air coming from it when im trying to bleed the brake, brake works but not enough. Thoughts, Qustions comments open to all

That is nice man. I was thinking about doing this to my 84 R. I got a line on the 83 CR 480 for $300 for the entire bike -needs piston and hone. That motor is a BEAST! The last and the biggest of the Honda Elsinore! I got lucky enough to ride the 480 bike before she blew, and it has awesome low end tractor torque at slow speed, and fairly smooth, climbing powerband from what I remember. That left hand kick is horrible on the bike for sure! I am 6'3, and had to stand on my tippy toes and kick with all my might to get that baby to roll over. The bike sits really high, and you have to get your leg way up there just to kick it down. I think it would be a lot better to start in the atc chassis, as its stable and lower. Nice build man, and glad to see another 480 atc, there are only a few! Give us a little more info on the swingarm mods, that is a HUGE modification to an old fooler if you ask me. AIR FOOLERS RULE!!!!!!!

LOL I wish I was 6'3, im only 5'10 and 140lbs soaking wet, It's definitly easier on a trike chassis, but me being a small guy I still manange to kick with my right foot , with full body behind it.Awkward but effective, as long as TDC has been found. The kicker from he 250r is short and stubby and for some reason its easier to kick then a longer stock 480 kicker.
