Polishing An Engine Case

I am polishing the engine covers for my tri-zinger.I hove gotten most of the paint off with some 120 grit sandpaper and a mouse sander.Does anyone know how to get the paint out of the tight spots? thanx

Paint stripper or a sandblaster!

burn it then polish it out, its much easyer to just burn off paint rather than sanding or whatever elce you are going to do.

Burn it? You mean like with a propane torch? I hear brake fluid works good.

ya with a torch but if there are seals near you dont want to, also you dont want to get it too hot just enough to get the paint off. brake fluid is ok ive used that to write stuff on serriaclub members cars (2 of the teachers at my school)

holy crap! is that the 85 or 86? how long did it take to do and how did u do it??

this was completely stripped w everythg out of it including bearings from cases, dunked in stripper for 2 days,, then polished on a wheel... this engine is going paul turners old race bike and will not be run at all.. i have done others and yes its a pain in the ass to keep up w to keep them clean.. for around $250, plus shipping it could be done, as long as the engine is COMPLETELY emptied from it gutz.. it looks great for show pieces though..

when you use brake fluid do you ptu it on a rag and rub it off or do you let it soak or what?

Dont matter brake fluid is strong stuff.
