Picked this up today and I'm pumped to have it! As you can see by my signature, I love Polaris and have been wanting a polaris trike for a while. Unfortunately they don't come up for sale very often, and when they have I didn't have the money at the time. The guy I got it from was really cool, he drove an hour and a half to meet me at Cabela's which is a half hour from me. I'm fortunate to even get it, apparently he didn't even mean to post it in the Ann arbor section, being as he lives in Port Huron!
Anyway, picked it for $150 which I think is a good deal. It needs a lot but it does run and drive. Not sure if it's an 85 or 86, can anybody tell me? Oh and I don't see any rear brakes?

lucky! everytime i see someone buy a polaris trike, it makes me feel so jealous, cause the two i purchased were just wrecked....both have welds in places that didnt even need it(and i got them from seperate owners too!!) but they came with good plastics :) but i belive they started making changes in the late 85 models there may be things only the 86 has but i do not know of them. but anyways for the LATE 85 and all of the 86 models there should be a reverse overide button that allows you to go almost as fast in forward, in reverse.

Nice Find Matt, did you keep your 350x? I can't keep track...

Oh wow, 150 dollars and a half hour drive, Score !
The rear braking system is right behind the forward-neutral-reverse selector, towards the rear of that gear selector.
Is also doubles as a engine brake so you can shift smoothly.
You will have NO rear brakes when the gear selector is in or pass's by neutral so be sure your front brake is working well.
There is a board member working on reproducing those tank emblems as his first introduction to reproducing parts. He recently got a P-3 and his was missing so he wants to make them.

MonroeMike: Of course I still have my 350x, not going to sell that one! Or this one for that matter!
Thanks for the compliments guys, I'm really happy with it but it'll take me a while to make it the way I want it.
Aregistereduser: I like your user name! And this one is by no means mint, but is a starting point I'm comfortable with.
jeswinehart: Who makes the emblems? I'd like to get some.

thanks, but trust me, it runs and drives thats a great start i have more then what you spent tied up in 2 transmissions, 1 good, one shot, a engine, with the electric starter broke, and 2 frames, one welded a plate where the engine goes for a lawnmower type engine. and the other is just been messed with in misc. areas. if you need parts the quads are the same. not sure up until what year but my 92 trailboss looks close to the same.
