hello, im looking into buying 2
25x12.5x9 bear claw tires for my 200es. but i would like to know a couple things
1: wheres the best site to buy these from?
2: any worries i should have with shipping? would hate to lose 160$ for some stupid reason.
3:do they come on a rim thatll bolt right onto my trike? (is the bolt pattern correct)

they wont come with a rim unless you order one with a rim.

Whatever you do, don't get them off a live bear. They can be big and nasty...................:postwhore

they are probably very heavy.

looking at them on amazon and says stuff such as
"Built-in rim guard protects your wheel from dings/dents"
"Center lugs provide extra traction and better control."
but that doesnt matter i have wooley boogers on 9 inch rims so i can always swap rims. im not about speed either aslong as my 200es will go 30-35 thats the fastest speed i need. but im keeping my eye out for a 250es....there not too popular around my area. and if i do find one its either 1 grand for a abused one or a average one that they dont wanna sell.

I got 22x12x8 on my 200x and i love em, there not heavy enough to notice any speed lost but i did only go 1 inch wider then stock so your might be a lil heaver, bought em from http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/ cost me $150 with an air filter free shipping on orders over $100

I agree with BigDawg..Rocky Mountain is the place to go. I've got 3 machines with Bear Claws on them.. My favorite tire!!

Definitely no rim included..

They weigh 24.7 lbs a piece if that helps. Great tire for a lot of mud and snow. I prefer stockers, but these do shine for pure traction.

The best place to get Bear Claws in Baltimore, is a little Bakery called Gershbecks (sp). They have the most delicious raspberry filling and are baked to a flakey golden brown. LOL

Nope they just clear with about 1/3-1/2" on either side.. Not so lucky on my SX though..had to mess around with 10" rim, alternate tire size and spacers..but the end result was just as cool as the BR.

But ride sure did stiffen on both machines because of the heavier tire construction. Thank goodness for the full suspension on the 250ES/250SX..the Bear Claws are not as soft a ride as the original tires. I hope 'aregistereduser' has a strong spine on his hard tail BR..it will be a harsher ride!!

Some guys argue the chevrons are pointed the wrong way..I dissagree. They're awesome the way it is..I was riding thru mud my brothers quad couldn't get thru.

I had Maxxis Surtrack and Bearclaws are kinda a copy of them. They were directional. Sand one way. Dirt (hardpack?) the other way.

Those Bearclaws kinda remind me of Spidertraxs too

that is one sweet big red. i was thinking bout getting a front but thought the turning would be worse with a fatter tire. but itd pick up traction alot better, i hate when my knobby just acts as a plow in the mud.

Definetally love Bear Claws. I have the 25's on my 250SX and will be getting the same tire for my next SX based build.

I never used them with a hardtail; but when aired down they will squish fairly ok.

I do notice that steering the animal on a heavy rutted trail is tougher. That big tire wants to follow the quad ruts and it takes a bit more muscle to keep it on track..

But it sure isn't short on traction.

What size did you put on the front of your SX 'brand name'.?? No way the 25" Bear Claw was going between the forks. Even the 22" did fit between mine..

id have no problem steering, im use to having a 100-220 pound passenger on the front, boy do your arms feel sore after 10 mins. think ill go with bearclaws when i find a 250 someone wants to let go. as for now ill keep rocking the old retro wooley boogers. thanks for your input!

In spite of it taking a little more strong arm to keep in pointed in the direction you want to go on those deeply rutted 'quad' paths..they are awesome.

Best thing I ever did putting them on my machines. No more side slip on the slow, tight turns when the ground is slick...well maybe just a bit when it's ice/snow.

Goodyear Wrangler ATT912; 25x11x9

I narrowed a rear rim from an '86 TRX250 to just under eight inches wide. There's a pic of that somewhere in my SX thread. Follow the link in my signature.

Interesting approach you used, I didn't think of that. Nice looking rig..I wanted to go snorkel also but no way I was putting the tube in my way of trying to steer. Just not alot of options on the SX.

I used the a 10" TRX250 rim also. But then used a thinner, taller Bear Claw. So the setup is similar to the Xs and Rs..also I find it made the machine more manuverable than the fat front tire.

I didn't want to order a rim and wait; there was that rim and a sawzall nearby...

I wanted to keep the front tire wide for soft surfaces like snow or muskeg. The ATT912 has a fairly rounded profile so not too much of the tire rides against a surface when the surface is hard.

The snorkel doesn't get in my way. I have to believe most everyone who says it does haven't mocked one up and seen for themselves. I only leave it on for water crossings, which I usually am pretty careful going through anyway. I only ride really aggresively on dry land or water that isn't as high as the tires and doesn't need the snorkel on.

one of the best combinations i have found on a trike is the bear claws on the back and a kenda front max up front works great on a sx.
