FL400 pilot reed cage differences?

I know it's not a trike but what is the difference between the 1989 FL400 reed cage and the 1990?

I didn't know there was any difference. I got v-force 3 reeds for mine.

Ya, it doesn't make sense that they'd be different but the part #s for the petals are different between the two years....

Yes they are different the 89 has 6 petal type like 250R's and the 90 has 4 petals.... the 90 has a better flow than the 89....the 89 is also discontinued now but still get the 90 reed cage...

Hmm interesting. But is the bolt pattern the same so u can bolt up '90 reeds on an '89 ?

Is there any way to put '90 petals on the '89 cage? I know the '90 cage will still flow better than the '89 but can the petals interchange at all?

Nope you can't interchange the petals......servicehonda has the 90 reed for $83
