OK reporting in from the land of KLT.............. Where may I find a A suitable replacment tire for the front of my KLT. The one I wanted was a stock 185 tire 21x9-8 but I cannot find a replacment. So can I mount a 9 or 10 inch rim on the front and have it turn out OK? What rim and tire are on the front of a Tecate?

The 84 and 85 Tecate both use the 22x11-10 tire, but the bolt pattern is different between the two. The 84 is a 4x4 bolt pattern, and I cant recall what the 85 is, but its a wider 4 bolt. I believe the 84 came stock with a steel wheel painted gold, and the 85 was aluminum.
There are a few tire brands in that size. I think this tire would work great: https://www.denniskirk.com/640011.sku?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cse

Let me go more in depth. I have a 110 KLT I am restoring but I wanted to do some upgrades after the fresh rebuilt top end. All the original rims on the 110 are 8" but are 10" wide. This calls for some close quaters on the width on the upgraded suspention front end off of a 185KLT. Yes the 2 bikes have alot of swapable parts gas tank, front forks, rear fenders, rims. Well lets just say even the air box will swap over. Now with that being said the 185 I bought for parts was a POS and someone put fix-a-flat in all 3 tires, needless to say the front one was totally ruined and the rears must have not been on there as long so I saved them. After measuring the rim on the front is a 4x4 bolt pattern and is 8"x8" wide and is a much nicer fit on the suspension front end. This will go great if I am able to manufacture disc brakes for the front. I can clean this rim up but it is rusted to beat the band and needs alot of work. however even if I save the rim I cannot find a 8" tire out there that is less than 11" wide. So to go to a narrower tire like the stock 185 I need a 21x9-8 or simular, Or find a 4x4 bolt pattern rim in a 9 or 10 inch so I can have more options.
So, any ideas???????

If the front tire has good tread, and no huge rips or weather cracks in it to the point you can shove your fist in, I would just put a tube in it and call it a day. You can pick up a tube for about $12. Otherwise, why wont that link to the tire I gave you not work? I thought you were looking for a 21x9-8, right?

yes it worked thank you. Guess I missed the link in reading too fast. I would use that tire but I was hoping for more of a steering tire than a all pourpose tire. If that makes sense.

Yeah, I hear you. I can't decide on 22's or 20's for my tecate. I'm worried that the 20's will look to short.

how wide is the rim on the tecate? Is it 8" or 10" wide? The front forks look alot wider than mine.

It's OK I have an 8" rim that is 8" wide off of a 185KLT. I will just have to sand blast it and throw a little matching gold pain on it.
Think I found a nice tire also.....
