1484811399351985 Honda 250sx rebuild. This project took me about a month to complete and is my new daily driver around the farm. We drove an hour East into Chicago to pick this trike up from a guy who had a halo bolted to his head to keep it from turning from crashing his bicycle. His wife made him sell this after that I guess. Cost me only 175.00 and is probably my best pick yet.
The trike was in pretty bad shape. Had a completely destroyed front end, the plastic was cracked and missing everywhere. Two different size rear tires and rims, broken rear shock, and the carb was completely frozen.
I completely rebuilt the engine, bearings, seals, gaskets, timing chain, and a 350x carb. The frame and swingarm pivot has all new bearings and seals (that was a b****). Painted the frame red and the tank white. New rear oem shock and spring. 1986 200x front end with a white 1986 250r headlight that holds a 1984 110 headlight/lens perfectly (250r headlights for those years cost way too much on ebay). A new 1984 white 200x front fender that’s flatter in front to achieve a wider look that imitate the look of the original sx design along with the new white rear fender from Meier. I used 1986 Decals because I like the scheme more on those years. New rear 22” Kenda Dominator tires on 10’ ITP wheels and a Kenda Pathfinder in the front. A Napa battery a little gas and alot of small parts and she started right up after I smacked the starter with a rubber mallet a couple times.

Nice!!

So u used the 200x Front disc brake?

Would the regular 250sx brakes work for the 200x front end?

You pretty much need an entire front end from a 200x to start with. Its a pretty simple swap if you have that. Good news is that you can find all those parts on ebay for really cheap if you spend some time looking.

So would my 250sx Front tire and rim fit with the disc brake? Or fit between the 200x forks? Would hate to have to grab another front tire. Not sure what the size is.

Also sorry for Hijacking your thread.

I recently added rubber rear mud flaps since I can't find any anywhere else. Used some $20 truck mudflaps and just cut them up and bolted them on their with stainless hardware.

No... Lots of threads on 200X front end conversions. I grabbed a complete front, for $150, then its just a bolt on, and add steering stops...

OP, nice job on the SX... That tank looked harsh!
