Hey all,

I have decided to run my 200x motocross trike this January at the Battle of the Barn in Iowa, so it is time to pull out the Missle Engineering Flat Track kit. The first picture is before I started stripping the 200x down right after I finished installing a different exhaust. I decided to switch to a stepped Powroll exhaust for this season instead of the Supertrapp. The last picture is how it sits right now. Both nerfbars are mounted, the shock strut is on, and the conversion hubs are mounted front and rear with new Hoosiers all around. It is still far from finished. It will sit much lower in it's final form; I need to make another nerfbar mount so I can drop the rear some more and I need to make a front brake caliper relocation mount yet as well. I will also be switching to a shorter width set of handlebars and the forks will be slid up slightly further in the trees. This kit will eventually be on a vintage racer build that will be mainly for show purposes, but I figured I might as well get some use out of it in the mean time. I will post much more detailed photos of the components of the kit, including the nerf and linkage mounts once I get closet towards completion.

Thanks for looking, xrider

He picked up the missle kit 3 or 4 years ago if I remember correctly. Everything but the strut bar at least! LOL I so wanted those parts, just not bad enough. Those flat track kits are so cool. I'm glad to see these parts finally going on a machine, even though it's not in my basement. LOL Best of luck with this build and getting to race it.

Thanks again for sending me that strut Veal and I believe you are correct on the 3 or 4 years ago. I'm glad to get the kit mounted myself, this is the first time that I have mounted all the components since I purchased it. The race should be a good time, completely different than what I am used to. I atleast wanted to get one race on the parts before I refinish them all and use them in the final build. No better chance than a tight indoor Coke Syrup track!

No test rides yet, but I am itching too. I want to atleast get it lowered down all the way first.

I have always loved the look of those with the small tires, and sitting right off the ground, I bet you could hang any corner. I'll be watching this post. Keep up the good work, and wonderful informational photos!

You weren't kidding lol. A deeper sound and way louder than the supertrapp, but it sounds wicked. I have the dyno charts that I will post up soon. I overlayed the best run of the Supertrapp, Bassani, and Powroll onto the same graph for comparison. I'll probably end up throwing on the low pros; They are painted and ready to go. The stock fenders are a real pain in the A** for trying to get a good lean, especially with the nerf bars.

I would def like to see the charts , if anything the powroll will get the award for being the loudest  .

No kidding, lol. Well here are the charts. The first is the HP graph for all three exhausts and the second is the Torque graph. All runs were completed in 4th gear on the same day with the only major change being the exhaust. I wanted to keep it as level of a playing field as possible. The Blue line is the Supertrapp exhaust, the Green line is the Powroll exhaust, and the Red line is the Bassani exhaust. Also note that the Supertrapp was ran as an open exhaust with the spark arrestor discs removed. Here are the results:

It sure does. I'm going to entertain the Powroll exhaust for this race, mainly for the fact that it sounds awesome, lol. I will most likely run the open ended Supertrapp in the long term though. Interesting results for sure on the dyno

Not sure what compression your running . I know the higher the compression , less back pressure is required . powroll used to offer a 13.5 piston and we used to deck the head a little so all that compression and the very free flowing Powroll exhaust used to be the best combo back in the day . Cant take anything away from a supertrapp though , their great pipes !!!!
So all i'm saying is I think we might see different #s if powroll old school motor parts were used with that powroll pipe .

I have to agree; I think with a different motor setup that the results could be different. It's definitely a high end pipe designed for a Powroll built motor.

I'm running 12:1 compression, powroll's race cam, the 6mm Sparks stroker crank that I picked up from you, lightened flywheel, heavy port work, and a 30mm FCR carb. I am using standard sized valves though. I'm sure oversized valves would make a difference as well.
I have a Kerker and an old Yoshimura pipe for a 200x as well. Maybe I'll run those for comparison too. Gotta love having dyno access :beer

I can't believe I missed this thread....jesus that is a beautiful bike xrider. I can't believe you also have a missile kit! Just plain awesome...so jealous. If you ever decide to sell that powroll exhaust keep me in mind :). That exhaust and a finishline axle are all I am missing. I have been looking for one to purchase for a couple years now....those things are about as rare as it gets!
