Hi guys!
I have a DG exhaust system on my 250r, but it doesnt have a spark arrestor. I was wondering what year stock exhaust would fit my bike, or who makes a DNR legal slip on.

I was also wondering if the front forks from a 85 would work on my 81. I would really like a more stable front tire.

Thanks again for all your help in the past.

I think Dg is the only one making pipes for your bike anymore. I would try and locate a stock 250r exhaust, the only possible problem I see you having is whether it will fit exactly right with the expansion chamber or not, but you can probably make it work. As for your second question, the newer 250r forks won't fit in your triple tree, since the 81 and 82's had a far smaller diameter fork tube setup. I don't know right off the top of my head what the 81's had, but the 85 and 86 were 39mm. You might be able to switch if you found the whole triple tree and forks, or you possibly could adapt some type of spacer to the axle or switch hubs in order to run the skinnier fron tire.

as for the front end im pretty sure an 83-85 200x front end will fit, heres a pic of an 81-82 r with what i think is a 200x front end.

The 200X front ends due look good on the 81-82 R's.

... as far as a spark arrestor goes ... Cobra makes a slip on one that fits over the end of the Oval DG/Answer stinger. its like $60 from D/K.

Wow,

Thanks for all the good info! I have a complete front end off a 85 250r, ill give them a try soon. If they dont work out ill try and find some 200x stuff.
