Wondering what you guys think of this 200x? Guy bought it for a project but never got around to it, its missing foot pegs, cdi cover, airbox, and header pipe for exhaust, he has a cobra exhaust "muffler" with the mounting bracket broken off. I also noticed it had a 84 tank and front forks? Guy wants 300. Just wondering what you guys think and if you notice anything else wrong with it.

Def an 84 with 85 rear plastic and seat. Watch for loose bearings,,sticking hung up,calipers, brake pads,,leaking seals etc...Check for good compression specifically apying attention to the kicker gears not stripping. Nice machine,,but WAY easy to sink a grand in counting your time. Look it over good,,pointing out politely ALL the things that need fixed,,and he probably knows MOST of it and WHY he's selling it! Offer a lot less and see where you end up. Good luck

I thought it was an 84 with 85 seat and stuff but ran the vin on the frame and it turned out its a 85 frame. Also have vin for motor but theres no difference in 85 and 84 motor is there? Thanks for the heads up on what to look for 007.

If you have to ask other people wether or not you should buy it, then leave it alone.

Do it! You can always make it a slow rebuild and pick away at it over time.

Wasnt really asking if I should buy it. More less asking if anyone could see anyone could see anything wrong and try to get more info on what to look for in them.

300$ Is not a bad deal for a 200x, Try shooting him down to 250 and you made a good getaway. Parts are easy to find, cheap, and the 200x is a very fun wheeler for sure. Good luck!

Isn't the title for this thread "Should I Go For It (200x)". That implies to me you are looking to buy the trike. These trikes are 20+ years old. Even trikes that look nice have problems. You get what you get.

Man it looks decent. I just looked at one a couple days ago that looked like total crap. The guy wanted 400 and wouldn't come off any. I maybe would gave him a hundred. But honestly that thing deserved being parted on feebay.

That's about the shape my 85 200x was in when I picked it up. Lots of Mooolah, time, and a labor of love. Did I mention lots of Mooolah? It takes a bunch of cash to put these old guys back together in good running shape. For me it was worth it, mine turns heads everywhere it goes and I drive it like a 2 dollar whore. The next one will be a modern day CRF trike conversion just for the ease of finding parts. Good luck with it if you choose to dig into a project.

A little exhaust work. http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php/95677-Here-s-how-you-build-a-200x-exhaust...

If you do end up going through with it take your time, you have all winter now. I wish I had pic's of mine before I started fixing it, the one in your pics looks cherry compared to what mine started as. No fenders garbage seat, bent bars, no headlight, shot tires, she was a sad sad case.
