Lookin at new seals for another engine Im putting together and I just thought Id ask you guys if you'd ever put seals in your engines other than OEM. Most of the seals Im ordering are 3 to 4 bucks a piece which isnt bad but the old countershaft seals are about 20 bucks. Right on OEM seals they list the dimensions in mm's so I thought I could just go by size. I looked at some other companies like Timken and Chicago Rawhide, but I havent got a price quote yet. I just figured if theyre cheaper or even last longer they would be worth takin a look at. Let me know if anyone has used another seals. I appreciate any input, Thanks.

I always compare the honda price vs. the price from my local bearing supplier

Do you know what brand name they are? how is their quality? same if not better? One reason I thought of looking too is obviously OEM are technology and materials used 30 years ago when these machines were produced quality has to have improved over the years

I have bought seals and bearings at napa before, but never for internals. In my experiences it is generally not much cheaper if any than oem or aftermarket.

When i rebuilt my 250R, I ordered all seals and bearings from a local supplier. Replaced all bearings and seals except on the bottom of the rod, along with the swing arm and axle bearings. So far they've been reliable. I haven't had any issues.
