Neat trike, I have had a few and still own 2. Very common carb problems...they have a pull button primer that takes a sheet and or leaks around primer knob as mine is doing now. Not a very easy carb to find in good shape and hard to find kits for them. Not sure of the 82 but my 83 has reverse and mega low. Shift pattern is down. Low engages from nuetral up one. Reverse engages in nuetral pulling up on reverse shift lever behind foot shifter. I think them to be a little tipsy...high center of gravity but all around mine have been good to me. I would run it through the gears if it runs..if not still worth it in parts. Don't forget to change oil and it does have a internal oil filter. Have fun.. here is one I had and sold http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/oo321/andyatc70/th_Picture498.jpg (http://s388.photobucket.com/albums/oo321/andyatc70/?action=view¤t=Picture498.jpg)

Check the airbox lid and airfilter. These are really touchy when it comes to the aircleaner and airbox lid. Make sure it is tight and the filter is on.

Make sure to clean the carb good before you even bother trying to adjust it. My rule of thumb is after I clean a carb I run the screw all the way in and back it out 2.5 turns and go from there.

just pulled the carb it was clean jets were the correct ones and clean i blew them out anyway. i was playing with the idle screw and got it to start and idle very low was running like sh*t if i touched the gas it would die when i first got it home it was a little rough starting but not bad and ran better then now i could give it about 1/4 throttle if i slowly gave it throttle and i rode it around for a bit i had it idleing and was playing with the air screw it didnt fix the bog didnt even help i remember all my 200s's wouldnt run right with out the air screw in the right spot dont know if this is the same im getting a little ticked off i was just out there cranking for an hr.... it made 2 very small backfires but still started afterwords if i give it gas and pull it over it wont do a thing any suggestions would be apreciated i dont realy understand this little thing with its fuel pump and tank under the seat primer and choke:wondering why dose it need all this?

well first you will need to pull the carb, it looks like a mikuni carb to me so you should be able to adjust the tang on the float a little bit. The little metal tab the pushes against the needle if you push it a little towards the needle it will allow less fuel into the bowl. Also what you are describing could be a flooding issue, or a cracked intake boot, next time it is running spray carb cleaner all around the intake boot from the carb to the motor. Also before adjusting the float pull the screw that holds the metal plate between the float and the float needle seat which will allow the float seat to be pulled out. There is an o-ring on it that if wore out will allow fuel to keep filling the bowl. give that a try and then let us know.

i thought it was flooding to bc when i had it runing it wouldnt go WOT not even close it would stall out if you hammer the gas could bearly give it 1/4 throttle but plug looks dry every time i pull it out i will try adjusting the float

Then it's not flooding, I wouldn't mess with the float, any trike you tip on it's side for a few min then set them back right will drip fuel as you are throwing the floats off whack when it's over. my guess is an air issue either too much or not enough, have you checked air box and air box intake pathways for a rats nest? did you put on a new air filter or clean it yet, also how dirty is the petcock from the fuel tank, and lines? lots of other things to check before you go adjusting the float level. Because if it is spot on and you move it you might never get it back to where it belongs.

it didnt have an air filter when i got it and i the pump and everything seems fine to me i pulled the lline out of the carb and when i pull it over it squirts gas so pretty sure fuel pump is good i still dont think its getting enough or its not getting enough gas also if i give it any throttle when pulling it over it dosent do a thing thanks to monroe mike i have a manual now and i should be able to get it going and the guy i got it from said he rebuilt the carb not long ago so the float may be off anyways but when i tiped it over it drained some gas out of the carb then it started to fire... muthey do you have a set of foot pegs for my parts ytm the foot pegs that have the shifter atached to them and a carb and slide dont know if i asked or not lol
