A while back I read a thread on here about restoring the inside of your gas tanks and now I can't find it anywhere. It talked about putting nuts and bolts in it to get the loose rust out, then using heet and WD40, and then coating it with something. Now I can't find the article anywhere. If somebody knows what I'm talking about, please give me the link or tell me what section it is in.

Thanks very much!

I had a atc 70 tank that was rusty. I filled it up to the top with white vinegar and salt and let it sit for about 5-6 days shaking it every so often. It dissolved all the rust. I then flushed it with water and baking soda to neutralize the acid effect of the vinegar. Dried it out and coated it WD-40 until I was ready for gas. I had maybe 5-6 bucks in the whole thing.
