1985 Honda 250 sx is missing little rectangle piece under back of exhaust...

My stock exhaust is missing that little piece that bolts on under back of the exhaust..It is supposed to be taken off once in awhile and have the rider throttle up to blow out all the old build up I guess. Would it hurt to ride without this piece?

It really would hurt to ride without this part but if you want to keep your exhaust from rusting out it would be advisable to
try and get that part or cut a square piece of steel to make a new cover.
