When I got my 85 250sx the brake light came with it, but the lense was broken and I haven't seen anybody selling just the lense. Does anybody here have one laying around that they might be willing to sell or know if there are any other trikes that used the same taillight? I'd like to keep it oem if possible. Thanks for any help or information you can provide.

Idk, I bought mine without one, And got one from an old 185s but it was to short in length.
Try Ebay i suppose, maybe the local NAPA or Coles would have one you could hook up, Not oem but there bright.

Hum, I didn't think of checking Napa for something that would be a direct replacement. I'll do some research.

Anybody else?

Don't do EBAY unless your willing to pay big bucks! I'm looking for the whole light and the ones on there are insane. I wonder if there is another light from another bike that will fit the 250sx?

There are a couple lights on Ebay that are billed as replacements, but it looks like you may have to splice a few wires together to make them work. Must be the taillights were(are) easily damaged items and therefore command a high price.

I have purchased the whole taillight assembly on Ebay for less than $20 shipped. You have to look often for the cheap ones, as most are over priced, but not all. I doubt you will find new replacement lenses anywhere

I found one at Mrcycles.com for less than $9. Should have looked harder from the beginning I guess.

^ If so, and it's OEM, you will soon get an email stating they are discontinued.

Just like Bike Bandit, they stock nearly nothing and order all the parts once the order is placed.

2 days later and you get the bad news...............

Just use one from a R or X, they are basically the same and much cheaper..

I ended up ordering it from www.servicehonda.com for $8 along with a bunch of there bits and pieces I needed. Merry Christmas to me!

Can't wait to get everything. I plan on refreshing/painting/cleaning up my sx as time permits over the next couple months.

I think you will get the same message from Service Honda. As far as I know, they are discontinued. I have had that happen at Service Honda 4 times now..

I guess we'll see. When I was completing my order it didn't list the item as discontinued, whereas, some of the other things on the site did show "discontinued" where the price is listed. After my order is filled I'll be able to find out what's available and what's not. I'm hoping that they'll have the parts I need.

Just the lens is still available from Honda so you should be able to get it. Everything else for the light is discontinued.

That's lucky, since I have everything but the lens. I will update everybody when my order is filled.

Well, my order was filled and it seems that the lens is discontinued and no longer available from the manufacturer. I'll keep scouring Ebay and post a WTB add here on the forum. Thankfully, the rest of the items I ordered appear to still be available from Honda.

Yeah, I had a rant a couple months ago about Service Honda not updating their website.

So, does anyone have a pic of one of the alternate ones on their SX? I've got something that really looks crappy, and I'd like to find something better. Of course I want OEM too, but not for the prices they're getting.

I used a tail light from a '00 Suzuki Intruder I had laying around. I got lucky & found 2 rubber grommets, which I used on the grab bar ends, then cut a couple strips of some 1/16th thick metal w/ a grinder & drilled my holes, added 4 nut/bolt & Viola! It really lights up nice in the woods at night.
Take a look around some junkyards, or your own personal stuff(you might have just what you need tucked away in a corner) & see what you come up with, & let us know what happens, TGG.............................
