Was told the red one ran, cleaned the carb decent spark and shot some fuel in the jug. Just wont hit. Is there a trick to starting these motors? feels like im trying to pull start a 350x...... I have tried getting it past the compression stroke and then giving it a pull just wont hit. I has new points and a new coil also. Guess i need to double check the timing and go from there.

I looked threw the other threads the one machine with no wheels looks like a pk frame? Any one feel free to confirm what it is or isnt . Thanks

Nice score. What is the front end on the red one? Doesn't look like BAPP's or PCCC? However, I could be wrong.

Looks like a Dickson frame to me . I also notice the cut out H/L box and the sl90 tranny conversion . Great score .

There's those same dang allen head bolts! I've found those SAME dang screws on atleast half a dozen different things, from different makers.

Very common for the stator wires to be bare at the rubber grommet . I cut a re-heat shrink them , buying another stator is a crack shot . If your going to replace the electronics I would go with 1979-80 atc 110 electronics their the best in my opinion and its a better coil and harness set up .

Hi
Not sure why but I've seen 2 machines with stuck advance plates
(behind the points) and one with a missing return spring.
Maybe that's why it feels like it's pulling back so hard.

How do we check timing on these?
Rotate the crank and at the 'F; mark, the points should open?
regardless of where the advance plate may be?
That doesn't sound right.
Maybe that will tell you if it IS stuck.

These motors run pretty hot and its not uncommon for them to blue a little at the wrist pin area , see if its still in specs ? Is this a 90 or 110 motor , check the cc size on the cylinder .

You need to load that machine and drive North 2 hrs and visit me some Saturday. I am pretty sure it would be running when you leave. ;)

Last picture is to get a reference of the size of main jet that was in the carb, keep in mind its loose on the carb cleaner straw

Just do a compression check , that will tell you if its a pop up piston or stock . Measure the intake side of the carb to see what size it is , most were 22-24mm . That isnt the main jet LOL also their is a rubber O ring that goes on that lip to seal it to the bowl . The main jet is mounted on the side of the bowl for easy access.

Is it a carb off a 2 stroke? Just asking because it has the 2 cycle fuel enriching system for the choke, where the 4 strokes have the butterfly type choke.

Mikuni offered this carb for many aftermaket applications and it is correct for the period as a race performance carb for a 90/110 .
