This was a run at the end of July at the Arm Drop Race, my motor got hot waiting for the guy in the chevelle, i must have sat there waiting for atleast 2 mins, and the puma likes to be cold. it ran 13.1 on that run....:( but its still a cool video

I can't tell for sure... Looks like you got him. Did ya??

He probably knew your motor would get hot. They don't like to run too long without some airflow through the rads!

He beat me by 2 thousands of a second :wondering, that was the slowest run that day....the other runs were 12.7 and 12.8's

what gearing do you use to make that beast pull hard through the 1/4 mile.

seems like a long run for a three wheeler

gearing is 15/34 with 23" tall tires....i shift into 6th around the 1000 ft mark....pulls hard the whole time....it is a big engine tho....408 Puma

That is a cool vid, but if I'm the guy in the Chevelle and my tubbed/huge by large cowl hooded race looking car only ran high 12's low 13's, I would drive it off a cliff. Seems like that guy needs to spend more of his money on making it go fast instead of making it look fast.

that was bad ass, I was a track announcer for a year at what is now Pacific Raceways (near Seattle) they wouldnt let 3 wheelers run there I pleaded with everyone there to let my buddies come down but it was a no go. I would love ot see more vids of your trike goin down the track and other trikes if there are others that run there AWESOME!

Better have quite the muscle car to whoop on our cars LOL. Our group of friends has quite the stable..2 of them went 9's last year in 100% street cars..LOL. My car is slow compared to theirs..My STI goes bottom 11's in the mid 120s on pump gas and street tires.

The days of having a warmed over big block or stout small block in your '69 Camaro and owning the streets are over. When they are pumping out high 11 and low 12 cars off the showroom floor, you better bring a bigger hammer in that muscle car.

8 cyls still gets it done...I don't see too many 4-bangers running funnies and top fuel in NHRA......:naughty: It all really boils down to who has the deeper wallet. I dare say those new Camaro's haul the mail pretty good....

With the new motor i ran a 7.18 @ 95mph 1/8 mile. 5.00 gears, i ran out of RPMs. If i put my 4.30s back in it should put me firmly in the mid 6.s I could easily flirt in the 9s 1/4 mile but i don't have a cage and don't plan on putting one in.

There's quite a few imports running some retarded times. There's a 7 second DSM lurking around. A bunch of 8 second supras, a few evo's and sti's. My buddy has a 2010 camaro with a HTR525 HP package (heads/cam/fasst intake/pushrods/long tubes etc) My car sat next to him from 60-150 on wastegate pressure which is 15psi. My normal boost is 25psi, which is another 100-125WHP. The Camaro's are super heavy.

I was going to say, I don't see a 7.1@95mph trap running 9's. My car traps very similar in the 1/8th, I'm a red C hair faster with a couple more mph.
I don't hate on muscle cars I enjoy all cars (except mustangs LOL). My next car is going to be a c6Z06.

Apples vs. Oranges

When discussing Muscle Cars, I speak of the old school cars with a carb on top of them, no turbos, twin overhead cams, no efi, no superchargers, ect. I'll stick to my guns and say the days of the guy roaming the streets and beating up on other cars with his 383 stroker, camel hump heads, big holley, and lumpy flat tappet cam, are over.

If you go out looking for a race with your 12/13 second muscle car these days, your going to get your feelings hurt real quick. And it will probably be some snot nose punk in a little AWD turbo car to hurt'em for you.

This discussion is no different then Ford vs. Chevy, 250r vs. Tecate vs. Tri-Z, ect. We'll all have different opinions and you what they have in common with.

This is TRUTH! The street scene picked up alot in the past 10 years around where I live. I been out of the game for awhile but last I had my street car out (2005) I was running a 489 Bigblock stroker with a 225 single stage of N20. I dynod 700rwhp and 850rwtq. Was my car really fast? Yes...but were there high 8 and low 9 sec 1/4 mile street cars prowling as well. yes. As well as plenty of 650whp turbo imports that weighed in at about nothing. Now guys are putting down 1000rwhp. and these are just guys who are weekend warriors and still work a regular 9-5. not rich dudes who can afford TT setups making 1500+hp. those old 400hp n/a strokers are dog sh*t slow now.

If you look at my other post, i ran a 12.21 @ 106 mph back in October....the cooler temperatures really woke the motor up....and im gettin better at leaving the line harder....if you try to leave hard its all over the place....

As soon as your four bangers can haul a 12"-16" trailer with another car on em, then we'll talk.

You have to look at reliability too. I've seen WAY more twin turbo, boosted, four banger imports blow, or something else catastrophically fail than I have a tough street/strip 8 cyl.

Then you have the style. Yes, there are imports which are fast, and are still cool, but the majority are ass ugly, and sounds like a hornet's nest in a dryer. A Chevelle, Camaro, 'Cuda, whatever will ALWAYS be cool.

While we're discussing old vs new, let's talk about older, carb'd, trikes versus new fuelie quads, eh?
