Mounting diameters are pretty standard 1" for Harley's and some metric cruisers, 7/8" for just about every other set of handlebars ever made.
The diameter of the master cylinder piston is what changes. They're marked on the casting. I've seen 11mm, 12mm, 1/2" and 14mm (rear) in my garage.
Most Honda ATVs come with a 1/2" diameter so the master from just about any of them should work fine. What you have to watch out for is the newer CR dirtbike masters - many have an 11mm bore. They'll work, but you're brakes will fell wimpy. I have one on one of my 84 200x's and it looks nice but the lever has a lot of travel. I'll replace it eventually. My other X has a 1/2 rear master (stock is 14mm) and it ha the same problem.
I have a 250ex master for my 350x. The whole trike is in boxes right now so I can't vouch for how well it will work yet...

so in theory i should be able to find the casting mark on the front master and get a front master from say a 450r and throw it on no problems. my main concern for all of this that my current front master has a clouded lens and it would make the rest of my build look like ish.

I have a 300EX master on my 350X. The only thing I noticed is the guide that cast into the master to direct the brake line aims down about 10 degrees instead of up on the 350X. If you really wanted to you could just cut/grind/file the guide off, as once the through bolt is tight I don't see it as a necessity.
I used one off of a new 400ex on my 350x and will use the same for my 250r. I paid $35 on ebay for it and it was like new.
