Dang dude that thing is awesome! Did you build it, and is the "project" Finished? It looks mean, I like it!

Edit*

Ok does it run? How does it handle? Man I have to many questions. You can't post a beast of a trike like this and not post details about it:naughty:

The only one that's really new to the flock is vealmonkey's. That one is unique to the ones that I know about. This one I think was 3Razors from the Phoenix area.

ride report!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:nau ghty:

Rides like it looks!! RAW BRUTE POWER!!! So after sitting for about 3 years, I put some race gas in it and after about 10 kicks I rode it around the neighborhood. It basically has two speeds..off idle and Wide F Open. :D The ergonomics are like a drag bike, but it turns on a dime.

This one I think was 3Razors from the Phoenix area.I bought mine after the one Veal purchased. I must say that i do like how the other 500x's have 200x front ends on them, mine has forks and tripples from a first generation 250r, it does have a 200x rim with an adapter to fit a 185? hub.

RapidRick
12-03-2011, 06:50 PM
Yep, I guess I forgot about yours. I just bought most of the parts for a wide front end, if you wanted to swap I could have traded you a whole 200X front end for what you have.

I do have a couple of 200x front ends already, thanks anyways, to be honest, i really do not know what i want to do with the bike i have to many. Veal was interested but the cost of shipping killed that deal.

It pains my heart to be reminded. Just not financially doable with trying to get a shed built and all. The history and uniqueness of these machnes is so over the top. The best part is, Mr. Nicholson is still alive and well. And there is new information popping up all over the place. It amazes me how much is not known about machines. The whys and the whos and such. OC250r was the first person who really was able to bring a ton of information together in one place on one of the mythical builders of such machinery. It would be nice to be able to bring such info together for the rest of the small builders, and I mean no offense to anyone with the word "small", so please don't be offended. The ingenuity and craftsmanship of these parts and frames and kits is just so cool. From bits like bolt-on swingarm kits to almost complete trikes to complete competition machines. I like mechanical things, and alot of engineering on these machines is just mind blowing.

I kind of noticed that the idle was high. After a carb cleaning you should see a bit more motion in the front tire. :D

That Bassani actually twists the exhaust flow and actually disturbs the surface of the sand about 5 feet in back of the trike

Well Mike, I finally bagged the big Sudco replacement carb and put a stock XR carb back on and fabricated a bracket for the pull cable to attach to. Going to order a K&N tomorrow and change the push/pull throttle to a twist type, and finish up the rear brakes and bleed it. I'm getting closer :D

I have not yet had it rebuilt. It is #1 goal for 2012. Does Fox still rebuild shocks?

RapidRick

Don't know. The guy that redid one of mine took several days just to find the parts. Had to source them from different vendors. Not cheap to do.

A little update to this build.

Got the fox shock rebuilt about a year ago or so. Seat cover from Cosmic Quads, it came with the 200x project I bought from Dammit.

Ordered some lo pro fenders from Mickey Dunlap, Maier 250r front fender and thanks to Meat-Box got the white Aussieduner number plate.

It is currently getting a new exhaust system and some much needed welding on the frame. I have a Mig welder but the frame is chromoly so it is in the hands of a capable builder/fabricator who has a TIG welder.

Installed a set of 86 200x hubs and Ohtsu 301's. I have a custom xowner 10 inch rim with TRX250r M/R 101 and 86 200x front hub to swap for the stock 200x setup and installed a good working set of rear brakes.

Thanks Joseph!! I just saw this. Kenny Roberts built an exhaust for it. He basically told me the quicker two get into one pipe the better it performs, so I let him go to town with it. It is getting ceramic coated.

I also have made some progress, just need to get past the Nationals (3/19) and get back to builds.

Here are the latest updates. I tore it down and had some welding done on the frame. While the expert was at work I cooked up some Carne Asada....yummy.

Yes I only cook with lump charcoal and like to throw wood chunks in the mix....no gas and no briquettes for me.

Down to the frame and sent off some parts to be chromed. I had the frame blasted and need to paint it. So little to do and so much time.

That's the exact same brand of charcoal I use.........nothing's better.

How does it like to be ridden aggressively?

Is it more hanging off the side, more of using the power to steer it, a combination of both, or something all together different?

The wheelbase and geometry make it look like it'd take some getting used to up until that AhHa! moment when it all comes together.
