got another 200 motor

i just found a 200x motor $75 its missing the cam rockers intake carb and the pistion is locked up but i have all the parts from whats left of my 185 motor has any one ever run a 185 topend on a 200x
if it has much of a power loss i would rather use the top end off my xr 200 motor and fix that with the 185 motor but that would be way more work

yes i did. but my piston was shot and smoked like a chimney. i would go that route since then you can have a decomp lever and save even more on you kick starter.
Only if you 200x is 83-85 right?

You wont notice any difference in power, as the 185 and 200s heads are the same as 200x. They have the same valves and everything, only inake manifold is a different angle for 185/200. I think the 200x has a better cam possibly, but I know for sure the xr 200 cam in a step up from either.

200x cam is better than 185 and 200s cam. you need to put the 200x carb boot on the 185s head to work for the carb. the 185s will have less power than a 200x with 200x piston though but not much.
