83-85 200x idles high......

I know its not one thing and thats for sure, its not the carb because i took the one off my other (running) one and it still idles high.....what could it be??

Could it be that it doesnt have a stock airfilter on it (homemade)

hi speed20, try " adjusting " the base plate on the upper left side of the motor,,, probbly retard it a little and should bring the idle down.
i know you checked all the easy stuff since you have been into every knook + cranny on your machine,,, lol.

HMMMMMMMMMMMM....... never thought about that....i advanced it because it was retarded a c#nt hair, maybe it needs to be retarded more...will check out tommorrow...Thanks alot
