Can the cable stretch over time. My bike wont idle. But if I hold the throttle it a 1/4 inch it idles fine. Is there away to test if it has stretched.

Thanks Jim

The Black Knob on your Carb is the Idle adjuster. '86 Keihin stock Carb.

Try the Search button or Jetting 101, Lot's of great information.

Well aware where the adjuster is I just rebuilt the carb. Just curious about the cable stretching over time

They can stretch, but that is not going to change the way it idles

Adjust it out in the cable. You aren't opening up WOT either. Adjust it down till the idle on the carb has your idle, but watching the slide form the back,it opens with the thumb. They do stretch, not usually that much. If you just rebuilt the barb,,is the cable seated down in the throttle cap? Doesn't sound it. Recheck your work!
