Picked up this '81 185's last night. Has a newly installed 200 top end not sure if its a 200s or 200x...they never did start it..today was the first time...Has great compression and started right up when I slapped on the ebay carb I had on hand....runs great. There have been lots of things changed on it and I'm gonna try to get it half way back to normal. I'm not gonna spend much on it...just get it ready to ride so I don't have to use my nice 185s all the time on trails.
I was wondering what front end and rear end it has on it. Has 4 lug hubs....prolly will change out front and rear later if someone will swap with me.

Also wondering what some of these items are...I want to sell them. I got alot of extra parts....keeping most of them except the ones in this pic and the ones I put in classifieds.
The carb with intake is a Keihin..maybe 110 carb? The other is a munki.

those look to be the correct forks. the 2 long parts in parts pic are the stantion tubes for suspension fork, 2 parts with the u shape at the top are handlebar risers. no idea on what the shocks go to. front wheel looks off-set from center. is it me or does the backend shot look like the frame is bent to the left a little?
man what a sissy bar. sorry i had to say something about it.

I just love those old trikes.
No lost sleep if they get scratched or dirty.
My latest favorite looks exactly like that one.
Sucker Flys and the stable princesses get to keep their prissy little feet dry
and fenders mud free for another day.

Yeah somebody lost their mind when they added that...I guess im leaving it for now...they cut off the back of the frame to make it shorter for some reason so fenders...seat...and grab bar won't fit anymore. Later I'll cut it off and add pieces back for grab bar.
All the brake componets have been removed from the rear axle...and one hub I found out earlier is stripped...so I just want to get a whole rear assembly.
Brake componets are missing from front axle also...and it has a sealed drum....that can't be right for a 185's. For now I just want all the rear end things fixed so I have brakes..good hubs and what not.
Tank has been remounted to make it higher in front...i'm gonna change that back to normal tomorrow.
Somebody tried to make this thing everything but a 185s...Should be lots of fun though putting it back together by going through the junk piles. Definitely is gonna be a great beater when I get it to riding status.

Yeah it is...its hacked pretty good to.....not really sure what previous owners had in mind....when I get the funds I'll get another frame.....I've been leaning toward that decision all day.

The 2 shorter shocks in the center look alot like the shocks on my 80' Yamaha MX80 (another unfinished project:(). Can't say for sure though, just a guess.

well, then i guess it could be a 200es fork? the 250es crossed my mind, but i don't think it'll fit without some modding.
if it was mine to mess with, i'd get it running/riding good enough to make it a decent mud/trail pig. then promptly run the snot out off it.
