I'm having some work done to the motor on my X. I was just wondering if anyone has really pumped one of these motors up and how they liked the results. I'm doing a 425 kit(89mm piston) at 12:1 compression and a midrange/top end cam with HD springs/Ti retainers and a high rev CDI box. I'm thinking I'll have about 35-39hp to the rear wheels. I'll try to post some pics when the parts come in.

Hey there,
Saw your thread and thought I'd respond. There is a member 452X who has just that, a 452cc motor in his 350X he loves it. He is actually contemplating putting it on the bottle as well, pretty crazy.

Tell me, what carb are you going to run with this set up? I have a 41mm FCR I was going to run on my bike. I bought it from a friend that was running it on his 400ex that he raced and had pumped to a 416. I originally was going to have a 452 built but since I am going with a 392 I think I might buy a 39mm FCR instead.

I am stroking my motor 6mm and running a 82mm 10.251 piston same hd springs with Ti retainers a hd clutch, new guides, valves, hardened rockers, port and polish, and a mid to top cam. I am looking at 42+ horsepower (I am told) and 392cc. All in an effort to maintain some reliability. The entire effort is to destroy my personal competition with friends and their 440ex's. Tell me more about your project and let me know if you want a 41mm FCR.

Cheers,
B

Wow 42Hp. That would do the trick. Is this in a ATC still or a conversion? My motor is going back into my ATC for now. How much difference is the porting supposed to make? Do you think it might get me into the 38-40 hp range with the other mods? I wont be able to put my motor back togeather for about 3 weeks yet so sending the head in for port work is not out of the question. Oh, my current carb is a Mikuni VM36 round slide. Don't really know if I like it or not. What do you think of the TM series carbs by Mikuni? I was thinking of selling my VM36 and going with a TM38.

Yes,i love the power :-D I have hd springs,ti retainers, webcam #213 grind(mid to top),ported and polished, barnett clutch,k&n filter w/outerwear,dg exhaust, hardweld rockers, new valves(stock),la sleeve,JE piston and a keihin 39mm fcr carb.I haven't run the carb yet cuz, well, the project isn't done yet.But i know i'm pushing around the mid fortys for hp.I ran it a few hours with the old carb jetted and it ran good but it'll run alot better with the bigger carb though.Man does it suck the gas!

Is yours in a quad or an ATC still? I didn't think you could run the FCR carb, but last night on the new Powroll site it said you just need to modify the tank a little. Do you know what mods need to be done to run the FCR on an ATC with a plastic tank?

I could take some pics of it, but the engine is out right now. I don't have any old pics. I'll be putting up some motor pics when I get the parts back fron TC.

Hey Cookie how much did it cost for TC Racing to get those mods on your motor?

The 425 kit(piston&sleeve) with installation of the sleeve in my cylinder was $500. The cam, springs and hi rev CDI was another $450. Dunno how much he charges for port work but I think I'll call him on monday. Man, I hope it runs like he said its going to. I just got through helping my friend install a 558 kit in his Preditor.

Any one got any ideas what paddles I should run? I was going to use Edge paddles. I don't know if I should use 7 paddle or 8 paddles.

Just got the motor in a couple of days ago. Still need to adjust the valves and finish up a few details. Then I have to go down and buy can of race gas. Details details.
