So I sold my 125m to my buddy, and last night i bought this 83 Honda 200E big red in great shape for only $250! the only problem is within the last few months it has lost spark, The guy i got it from didn't look into it so I bought it cheap.

According to my ATC freak buddy-

It could be the Stator, CDI, Coil or the pickup behind the little cover on the side of the cylinder

When the stator was bad on my 125, you guys had linked me to all the specs on how to test each part of the ignition system, with an OHM meter.

I would like that information again if anyone has it. I would like to test the Coil and the stator and all that before i go randomly replacing parts.

And here is a picture of the beast!, both brakes work really well and front has a parking brake, it's missing the lever for the rear brake and it was YELLOW when the guy got it, so it has some pretty shotty paint on the YAMAHA front fender and the gas tank is kinda funny looking too.

Thanks for the help in advance

Well it's alive!! It runs great all of a sudden, i'm thinking the stator is bad and is going to intermittenly not have spark

I love it though, HI/LOw is cool. all the gears work, brakes are awesome. and power is sufficient for me!

is that shaft driven cause it looks alot like my 200es, which has a slightly different wiring colors than the other 200's I've dealt with. Just curious, and trying to save you a headache later on if it is

No it's a chain drive 200E, 84 is all by itself. Mine is a 200E which is 81-83.
