Anyone have any expereince? I know the easy route is to ship to a border storage place and have the Canadian come across the border, but I dont think that is going to work.
I need to get an ATC from the west coast of USA to Quebec. Anyone have any experience or ideas on the best way to accomplish this? Please let me know, and thanks in advance.

That is going to be difficult without the purchasing party being present.
There are 3rd party companies that manage the import of a vehicle..but it will cost large.
Somepaperwork is required..and even to this day when I personally import them from Michigan into Ontario I get the occasional customs officer that states they are banned from import(ignorant idiots) and I have to spend time on convincing them the truth. They were banned from import for 15 years after the 1987 ban on manufacture..some of the older officers still think they are. I keep the regulations link stored on my Iphone in case of these encounters..
I have done it 4 times to date and been able to get the trike in, but a couple time the ensuing discussion with an unknowledgable customs officer almost stopped me.
I say the only way to manage this is for the buyer to be present and manage the import him/herself.
Ship it to the border as you say, let the buyer retrieve it and import it. One small glitch with customs and that machine goes no further..it's the only way to be 100% sure this won't happen.

1st. On page 19 is a copy of the RIV import form you need to complete when importing your trike..clearly here is a box stating '3 wheeled vehicle'
2nd. On page 34 listed in the 'Vehicles Chart' area of the document it explains the eligibility of the three wheeler to be imported to Canada provided it is 15 years or older. DUH, they haven't been make in 25 years..so they are all good. No border officer can argue what is on their own website..but some have!! But don't be 'in your face' about it..they can still find ways to make your import difficult! Most just don't know because they have never had someone bring a trike past them before.
Have a complete bill of sale, not just a receipt. Date, serial number, year, make/model number, engine size, sellers name/address & signature, buyers name/address & signature, amount paid. Make sure the ID tag is clean and readable for the officers to inspect if they want to. Don't F*&k this part up..or you're not taking it home!!
They will fill out the RIV form at the counter, you pay some taxes..and your all good! You don't need a title to import it!! But if you ever want to hold an ownership in your hand you will..hopefully your seller can supply that for you. Some can't!

A motor would be easy.
It's just a part..drain and crate it.
It's not a vehicle so none of those complications mentioned in the thread.
Could be a bit expensive though!'
