hey guys

has anyone reversed a tri-z 250 quad conversion

i was looking for parts in australia for a tri-z 250 and came across a 1986 tri-z 250 but when he send me the pics its was a quad conversion when the wheelers where outlawed back in 80s

i picked the bike up anyway but unsure whether to keep a bit of retro 80s or restore back to the a real zinger

cheers dale

No offense, but that thing is horrendously ugly and needs to be returned to it's original glory.

I know of someone turning a tecate conversion back to a trike but he is starting with a different frame, only because the other is tweaked. I seen the machine up close and I don't see any reason it couldn't be converted back with some cutting and grinding. the only part I'm not sure about is what if any modifications are made to the inside of the steering neck.

My advice would be to find another frame, and swap everything over. Considering that most of these machines need a frame up checking and cleaning anyhow. It would be the logical way to do it. Clean frames are still plentiful, and you still have the astro thing just in case. Clean forks are fairly easy to locate with a bit of looking.
